Default Does Evasion still work if not centered?

As the title says.... Will monk Evasion still work if I'm not centered?
Eg: using a large shield or holding scepters?

Yes you will have evasion if not centred, as long as you are wearing light or no armour (robes/outfits/nudie), and/or no shield or a buckler/small shield.

AFAIK, the only things which disable evasion are wearing medium or heavy armour, and/or wearing a large or tower shield, and being helpless (neg hp/stunned/held/etc).

We can add being burdened. A common problem for monks that use WIS or DEX, where STR is a dump stat, or DEX rogues, is they tend to be vulnerable to STR debuffs from spells like Ray of Enfeeblement that can put you in a Medium (= uncentered) or Heavily (= no evasion) Encumbered state. I don't believe that by itself being fatigued by spells like Ray of Exhaustion remove evasion or cause a monk to be uncentered, but if you're already on the line in terms of STR-to-Burden, that two point STR penalty may push you over the line.

Pro tip: if you're a low STR Monk or Rogue, don't be looting that heavy plate (or the boots from Red Rain - or did they fix that?) from chests: you're going to become burdened MUCH faster.

Sometimes if you're in the middle of combat you don't even realize you're now de-centered and no longer evading. The only fix is drink a resto pot, a resto/Heal/etc. spell, increase your STR, and/or throw out some loot. Near as I can tell, trying to get enough spell resistance to defeat these attacks is a fool's errand, at least if you're doing reaper or even Epic Elite.
