+2 Cha Tomes - Reincarnation - Want HE Warlock Dilettante

I have a +2 Charisma tome on the character in question - can I take Warlock Dilletante if I apply only 12 points to Charisma at the character creation screen knowing the +2 Charisma tome will be in effect at level 1 or does the tome only become counted when the character is actually level 1.

I guess I could try it live, but attempting to plan out character in advance...thoughts?

They start counting when you enter the “world”... so no you cannot use-tomes at character creation

You can create the character, eat tome, run to fred and swap it up.
Also, Warlock dilettante was nerfed.

It's been a while since I tested this but: +1/2 tomes apply at level 1, but not until after you select feats. So what you have to do is start with CHA 11, take a filler dilettante feat, then talk to Fred and switch to your desired dilettante (warlock).

Or at least that has worked in the past. No clue if it still does.

IOW it was bugged and overperforming; now it does what the description has always said. Too bad you can't boost the damage via APs like you can with rogue dilettante's sneak attack.
