Loading lag is horrific

I can't speak for combat lag, as I am currently on a caster, but load lag/delay is worse than I have ever seen it. Trying to enter quests, I am waiting 2-3 minutes before the window opens just so i can step into the quests, even just trying to zone out of quests, I am experiencing greater than normal lag.

Also, half the time when I exit, my hire doesn't, and the party has to be disbanded, and reformed to get the hire back, and the lag to disband a party is still there, as I had to wait almost 2 minutes before I could leave the party, as I couldn't even dismiss the hire.

I was in the orchard, running from VOL to Inferno and had to stop and wait about 2 minutes. Then again when running from Fleshmakers to GOP, had to stop and wait almost 2 minutes.

Same.. leaving groups is also lagged. Finished haywire, dropped group upon exit, ran to quest giver, turned quest in, ran to airship portal, and waited.. after a minute or so, I got notified I left my party, and then I got on the airship.

I think it's hopeless.

I get stuck in a loading screen logging in, logging out, trying to enter the guild ship, and any place that has loading screen. Sometimes i have to kill the client and restart.
This is the worst i've ever seen.

In the underdark, bouncing off of invisible walls, waiting forever at portals, and if they do open so I can enter, then loading screen hell begins.

Yes, quite noticeable from logging into the game loading screen, and switching instances loading screens and hearing others with same issue.

I had lag loading airship and getting the first quest to show.

After that I had no lag doing another 3 quests zoning in and out nice as you please.
Also no lag getting 3 others to join group.

So, its not everywhere.

- Explorer Zones (Feywild) is pretty much impassable for me and a party with constant rubber banding
- Loading into the game and (some) quests is taking forever
- Party joining/leaving seems to have some sort of lag

Wow, this is bad.

I have already rubber banded more today than the last couple weeks in Feywild.

Getting into and out of quests taking much longer. Zoning in and out of areas taking a much longer time than usual. Load times taking long as well.

I also had a lag death in a quest (Security Detail at the end).

Definitely far far more frequent and worse than before the update and it was already getting quite bad.

Devs appreciate there may not be a fix coming soon but are you aware of this and on the diagnosis train or what? Do you need bug reports specifically for this?

Edit: 20 mins later I just closed the client and gave up for the day. Caverns of Korromar, should that be relevant.

This is my observations too.
In quest, better. Out of quest, worse.

Loading screen and explorer area lag must be addressed.
And whatever new form of lag that lag fix exacerbates will need to addressed too.
And so on, until things are better.
A can of worms has been opened and now the creepy crawlies must be squashed one by one.

Maybe it's progress that lag is moving from a big ball of wibbly-wobbly laggy-waggy stuff
to more specific types of lag that (you'd think) could be more easily targeted for correction.

I had no expectation that the lag weed would be pulled, root and branch, with one update.
I'm glad it's being addressed with Dev time and I hope they keep at it.

I mean this is past the point of a joke . Their server cant support the load . its everywhere in every circumstance on every server by pretty much every player .

Just go watch any twitch games out there NOTHING lags like DDO does . Dont take my word for it go watch with your owns eyes .


They will keep dodging and deflecting (while milking the dying COW) but if you apply Occam's razor here , its very simple this has been ongoing forever with only PR doing real work on lag , That work is buying time by making excuses for a company that either CANNOT or WILL NOT give their players a modern gaming experience .

Fool me once shame on you but fool me 6-7-8-12 years shame on ME . You guys keep buying the koolaid its just time to step outside and try other games because in 2021 lag for 90 % of gamers is a one half of one second delay in interaction .

Its is beyond ridiculous , and the only reason for me that makes sense of having people sticking with this mess of a game with so many bugs and defects is the STOCKHOLM SYNDROME (google it ). That any serious company would have fired their entire Quality Assurance department .


This game is the MOST expensive on the market in the Bughatti price range for cars And yet you get a Chevrolet cruze .

Its the same thing that happened to the American car makers in the 80 s . Always broken more expensive ... what happened ? yah we all know what happened .


3 Big points needs to be adressed

1- no new players

How much is it to start from scratch in this game ? buying all content ? Wow is : 39.99 all expansions Full ACCESS (NO SUB) or ------ vip (same rate than DDO ) ALL ACCESS for the same price than DDO nothing to buy no races no enhancements nothing FULL ACCESS . FINAL FANTASY 14 : 49.99 sometimes at half price (24.99) ALL ACCESS All races content whatever all access (+ 12.99 sub per month)

Most games are in that price range HERE ITS THE OPPOSITE MOST EXPENSIVE STARTING EXPERIENCE.



Most games have new players xp boost mechanic because they understand that the avg gamer has limited time and no one wants to be a noob forever .So all these games like 90 % of games out there actually helps the NEWBIE CATCH UP TO VETS .

Here you have to play like a full time jobs and maybe in 10 years youll be running with the big dogs ? Do you guys even begin to realize how ridiculous this is ?

Here ? lol ask a question people tell you to wiki it. If you dared installing you have to dropp about 1000 $ maybe more to have access to all content races classes enhancement banks .


This is the total OPPOSITE of the industry in terms of pricing . Everyone else is making their game cheap and accessible here IS THE WORST IN $$$ to get full access .

Now you would think with that you have great customer service amazing fluid servers and regular bug free content . LOLZ No you have the worst customer service . (online game customer service is as fast as drive through Mc Donalds in Most games .)

Here ITS THE OPPOSITE . You have to go to the forums to get attention because if you spent 5000-10000-20000 on your account and something is broken you dont get a reply in a couple days and NO ONE IS ACCOUNTABLE ?

Think could you apply that to any other business ? Household appliances ?

Buying a fridge stove combo for 5000 at samsung and send them emails and no reply for a week ? Would someone be held accountable ?

How would samsung facebook page go ? how would their twitter ? Their SALES ? ....here they control and remove anything they dont like on their socials . Which gives a totally biased perspective of the customer base .



Here is a crazy suggestion how about doing what every other game out there is doing in terns of pricing , customer service , server performances ? You keep getting surveys with 75-80% of people against changes or dissatisfied with game direction sooner or later it will translate to dollars .

There are proved and tried recipes in business to succeed . IF you keep doing the opposite no matter how loyal your customer base is it will cost you .


I tried returning to this game but i just cant . I have had consoles and computer since the early 80 S i still have a PS 5 And an X BOX series X and have never encountered as many irritants than with this game .


#2 The grind

What people dislike most in games is levelling up it is why its called a grind ... But here people enjoy misery because they redo it multiple times with ONE CHARACTER ...A concept that no other games would dare implement .

That is the OPPOSITE of all other games , they try to minimize the grind here THEY MAXIMIZE IT . think about it for a second ?


#3 The lag

You guys have to realize that esports is more popular than professional sports in the 27 YO and younger demographics so the growth for esports is impressive and the shrinking of traditionnal sports MLB NBA NFL whatever is also very concerning . So much so that in a no so far future tv contracts for pro sports could decrease . Ratings----> Advertisers----->money

Imagine DDO in a ESPORTS tournament

2- tell to party leader : sorry guys the chat server is broken for me we will talk later .

3- guys 33% of my spells not landing

4- WE will be right back to the 2021 Esports tournament from barcelona right after that server reboot guys !!!
