    Default 2 Handed Piercing Weapons

    As Per title: I am suggesting that a 2 handed piercing weapon *type* be added. there are a few ways to get piercing on a 2 handed character but there are no ways which will remain viable into the future as it is tied to specific items. This is a fundamental balancing issue as piercing is a damage type that a large group of melee characters have little to no access to. Spear is the obvious answer from D&D but an alternative that might be easier for dev resources could be something like a Great Pick which would be able to mostly use the Great axe animations.

    The great pick sounds interesting, and would use the other two-hander animations as you mentioned. Spear or polearm of some sort would be cool if the animations were able to be programmed. It would add some style variety.

    Great Pick would seem to be the path of least resistance.

    Axe >> Great Axe
    Sword >> Great Sword/Falchion
    Hammer >> Maul
    Club >> Great Club

    Pick >> *crickets*

    Seriously, how was this not a thing way back at launch?

    You could just give it a quarterstaff animation if you want,
    (It's not like the other animations are very realistic so whatever.)
    but really it should have it's own stabby animation for both single and two handed versions.
    You could even have returning spears as a range weapon!

    or a bec de corbin if you want to use the regular two handed animation.

    The animations have been one of the reasons they haven't done Spears yet. *one of*

    I am both a proponent of Spears, and of any alternative that takes less work to make the OP's suggestion come about.


    ...and yes "Dire Pick" has a nice ring to it.

    Spiked chain that's not a special Tree feature
    Gnome hooked hammer (P/B)
    Dwarven urgosh (P/S)

    But what I want even more than spears?

    Lances. That I can use while mounted.

    Another idea that would be closer to Greatclubs while dealing piercing damage: Morningstars.
    Gimme a humongous Spiked Mace.

    I initially thought Morningstars would be 2-H from playing other RPGs that make it distinct from Flails and Maces.

    Spiked Halberd could work, but G.Axe already exists, and I feel like Pierce is really only an addition to 2-H weapons VIA Effects (like +Pierce damage the same way some weps add +Bludgeon).

    The most obvious one is maaaaybe adding Scythe finally, but that's more Slashing.

    Others here have offered up Great Pick but I can't really see that as a weapon concept.
