What did you die from in hardcore? I have gathered a list of the most common things people have died by from looking at the death notifications, and I am interested in seeing what got the majority of the forum community

Pretty sure many will say lag. Sort of the Shawshank "laywer blanked me" situation.

This. My first death was just from running past the group assuming I was invincible because of blood tribute. 2 reapers quickly disabused me of that idea.

I feel like I might have a new one. I was running level 5 quests as a level 9 warlock and I was cruising along in Combatting Corruption in Feywild and I got hit by a splinterbolt from a shambling mound for 145 damage. I am not 100% sure but I don't think it was named or even a champ. I was just shocked that a regular mob in an otherwise simple quest could hit for that much damage. I am back up to level 9 on a second toon now and I plan on being much more careful and cautious in Feywild for this life. We'll see how it goes!

It felt like it was something the shambling mound did when it died although I can't be sure - I was just in complete shock!

No deaths so far, but unfortunately the death notices don't indicate the champ type and I suspect alot of the deaths to magic missle spamming mobs are really the chaos and evil damage procs from champs doing the killing. There are quite a few deaths from switchfoot casters as well.

Just hit 8 on my Rogue/Wizi. I'm honestly surprised he's lasted this long. lol

Had not yet died in HC4.

On previous Hardcore events I had died from:

Cold blast in Redemption
Danger Room on the airship
Traps in the boss room of Ghola-Fan
Trap in Threnal (forgot which quest)
Mobbed by devils in Mad Tea Party

And those are just what I remember

You didn't list "Party Member".

I witnessed (but was not victim to) some <pejorative deleted> in Missing In Action, who, after the party specifically had agreed to "take things slow" and get all 3 valves on each side before turning the "activate trap" valve, had raced forward and turned it while most of the party was still in the halls. No warning, no comment, no thought at all. 230 pts of electric damage is no friend to Level 3-6.

And that's sad, because they shouldn't kill one.

All you have to do is jump back the moment you know the chest is opening, before looting! See if it's a mimic, then act accordingly.

Sad, but I am now done with HC for this season. I was looking for the hag for potions, and ran into the trap room (which I dint know about, and bam, dead. This is my second toon up to lev 8-9. People said it was explained multiple times...where? Just venting, but this is sooo dumb. I heard not to jump off the ship, but never heard not to look around the ship.
