Next life recommendations

Hi,
Casual player, I tend to TR once or twice a year.

I'm close to TRing my ranger/trapper and looking for input/links to current builds that might be fun. I have +2 and +3 tomes across all the stats, I don't have access to most of the 'newish' races or premium classes, not really interested in buying anything right now, just don't have enough time to justify spending money. I think I've unlocked all the universal enhancement trees except the newest one. Goal is to make it to 30 and do a few ER's before dropping back to level 1 in a year or so lol. I'll probably mostly solo, but usually put up lfm's. I have very few past lives, so primary class can be anything and I'll benefit from it when I TR..

I think I've got things narrowed down to a few broad options, input is welcome:

1) inquisitive build of some sort. I think most of my gear will translate pretty well from my current ranger life (wallwatch set, trapper gear, dex and int gear, etc). I'm leaning most towards this, but I'm not sure what builds are currently considered as top options.
2) paladin
3) palemaster
4) sorc - I know they've been nerfed out of orbit, would it at least be viable for a quick sprint to 20 then TR?

sorc was buffed a number of times. sorc, as a class, is in a good place. fire sorc's who were only interested in casting meteor swarm got hit, but there's very little that compares to air savant for a quick 1-18. before ball lightning comes online, it feels a little slow, but by the time you get chainlight its all daisy picking downhill from there. splash 1 barb for run speed, 2 for sprint boost if you don't have falconry. is quick and enjoyable.

but inquistive is still very playable and makes for a good leveling experience. good luck with whichever you decide.
