If I have a regular borderlands mount, what is the process to upgrade it with the horseshoe? Does it need to be upgraded before it goes into the stable or can the upgrade be applied to a stabled mount? Or is the upgrade mechanic just going to go away and we can sell the horseshoes for 1cp each?

yes needs to be upgraded before it goes into the stable. At least that is the way it is currently working on Lamannia

On Lamannia, you double click on your mount to add it to the stable. Once in your stable, that mount is available to ALL your toons. So this means you will only ever need one Armored Unicorn from the raid for all your toons to be able to have access to it.

You will not want to add slow (80% speed) mounts to your stable. Once added you can not up grade them. So wait until you get a horse shoe, upgrade and then add it to your stable.

Stables are currently planned for update 49

One of the best things you've done in awhile SSG. You need to do more of this inventory consolidation to your game. Inventory might be the worst thing about this game currently (it's worse than lag from my perspective). It's a mess of a nightmare.

Good thing they get paid to work. Laziness is not an excuse for something the game is in dire need of.

Hopefully those of us who paid for the Borderlands mount bag will be compensated with something useful since they are essentially dead items now and likely should be deleted to avoid pixel bloat.

How about granting all of us who bought the Borderlands exclusive content packs an exclusive mount -

the mount bags turn into a gift from the hermit - his old hoary horse named 'Karameikos' that has a unique cosmetic of a broken down old horse with bees flying around it. The hermit's horse survived the first goblin invasions and he gifts it to the players ...

Great change - my niece in particular is going to be very happy riding round as a shining knight on her armoured unicorn
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

    Overall, great functionality.
The only 2 issues I find are:
    - You have to upgrade bordelans mounts *before* being able to use them. This is honestly quite bad, since before you could use a slightly slower mount while farming the horseshoe. Now you are stuck walking until it drops (of course this is an issue only for new players or hardcore, but still we are supposed to help new players, not give them another wall to climb)
    - Being like pets, it means they dont transfer with character transfer. While this is mainly a minor inconvience, it can be still one, for the few people planning character transfers. Also an issue for any mounts farmed on hardcore, wont be moved to main server. Bad especially if you happen to roll a dice mount

    Thank You for making this.

Forums are often hard on SSG. So, figured it was important to let y'all know when something looks good and this change looks to be fantastic.

    Hmmm...

What happens if you WANT a slow 80% horse as well as the 100% upgraded one though? (Video recording cinematics reasons primarily)

Will they just overwrite each other each time added to stable? Because I can live with that. But if I can't get to use the slower horse because I gained the upgraded one already, that'll make some of the recording sessions more troublesome. It's not easy controlling the camera and everyone riding in sync and getting good visuals of the background at the same time. The slower trot on the non-upgraded horses make this much easier to do. But when we want some faster paced scenese, we do want the fast ones too.

Anyone know the answer to that? Or will I need to send someone over to Lamannia from live with the feathers and horseshoe to test out?

Wow. Way to be entirely unfair.

Its not a question of laziness, its just one of priorities. No one's saying the devs dont want to to do it because its too hard. They're just saying it would take so much time that it's not worth it compared to other things they could do instead that have more direct impact for more players.

If you dont "upload" your horses after you roll them, then they should stay as "items" that transfer. So if you roll a special mount on HC...just bank it. Which means its not so much an inconvenience as it is a n00b trap, which is arguably worse.

I would imagine you get both copies, since they're technically different horses. Though now I wonder what happens if you try to upload the same horse twice...will it give you a "you already have that horse in your stable" error message? Will it put two copies of the horse in your stable? Can you delete horses from your stable if it ever gets full?

Due to the upgrade mechanic, could we maybe just not get the 'slow' mounts added to the stable?

aka, they act exactly the same as before (an item that summons a mount) but once upgraded they get added to the stable?
