Mount Stable
Collecting and summoning Mounts now works similarly to Cosmetic Pets.

Double clicking on a Mount item will redeem that item and place the mount in your "Mount Stable". The Mount Stable is a new tab of the Inventory Menu that contains all of the mounts that you have redeemed on this server (regardless of which character redeemed them, like with cosmetic pets). To summon a Mount simply either double click on the desired mount from within the Mount Stable or drag it's icon onto your hotbar and click it there.

Plans for the currently existing Mount Bag item are to be determined.

I very much want to give a *thumbs up* for this. Look forward to what will happen with the mount bag.

Solves inventory as well as having access to all mounts for any of your characters.

Will the mounts that currently appear due to pack/expansion purchases continue to spawn each time these are opened or will this be a once per server trigger?

Mounts from pack/expansion purchases will continue to be delivered to each character just like we do for cosmetic pets. This ensures that if someone accidentally deletes the item before redeeming it the solution is simply to log into a new character and redeem it instead of needing to go through customer service.

Nice. It does, however, much lessen the value of having done the mount on hard core that gives a mount to every character on the account - when all mounts are now useable by all characters on the same server.

My sadness of having bought the borderlands goodie pack just for the mount bag is massively overwritten by never needing to pull mounts in and out of it again with the stable.

Devs recently mentioned that the two systems are not similar at all...so while its fairly easy to convert Mounts to a stable, its decisively more difficult to get Cosmetics in a similar system, because of the way the game handles them (they point to another object, they arent objects themselves that can be stored).

i guess you should not add it to the mount-stable until you've upgraded it via the vendor. you still have the item that summons the mount and can turn that in.
that means you couldn't use it while you still search for an upgrade thingy

that'd be the easieast way to deal with it. maybe they'll have a change on it

or, in my humble opinion, forget the upgrade, what about if the base borderland you get for tokens is the upgraded one already?

mounts are not the new thing anymore, and they are paywalled anyway, let's forget about farming a random item to upgrade them. tokens are enough. no slow and fast mounts. just mounts. all "fast".


this game needs to be more fluid, i'm really happy they found a solution to yet another system that was born already old, like, mounts as item that goes in bag. this time this old system did not survive long.

Hmmmm, for the mount bag, perhaps just make a recolor of the Borderlands mount so that players can have 2 different versions (perhaps a lighter colored one).

At least on Lamannia atm, mounts are shared account wide. I tested this with a Armored Unicorn, I have just one of those. I added it to my stable and was then able to use it on every toon I copied to Lamannia
