    Default The R10 Rogue Tank (not a typo)

    After it was requested a few times, I decided to post the build notes on my latest build obsession.

    To begin with the necessary, this is not a first life friendly build. I have a lot of past lives, a lot of RXP, and plenty of gear, but I still need more, which will be detailed following.

    This started out as a flavor build pioneered by others long ago, the dodge everything rogue. A 13/4/3 Rogue/Fighter/Monk split leaning heavily into the dodge mechanic through TA, Kensei, and HM trees. Along the way, I wanted to try something different, as I get bored with the standard "play the class" concept.

    This goal I set out on was to assemble a high AC tank build with ~50% standing dodge, all made possible by those three little monk levels. Remaining centered in cloth, this build gets both Dex and Wis to AC, as well as access to mountain stance. Mix in the appropriate gear, epic destinies and filigrees, you wind up with a 435ac cloth tank with 52 standing dodge.

    With Defensive boost, reaper fort, and staff wall, you can situationally add 15ac and 95prr

    Uncanny Dodge - with 52% standing dodge, uncanny becomes a second Meld - we all know it, we all love it

    Additionally, with a swap to Shadowdancer, quick twist change, and a secondary gear set, you can put up respectable DPS with 200+ MP and good sneak damage. Will it rival dedicated DPS builds - No. Will you wind up on top of the kill counts - rarely. But between trapping utility and Strikethrough DPS, your contributions to the outcome can't be questioned.

    So where are the weak points. MRR. Its cloth, so you have to spend considerable precious gear and filigree slots to add to your cap, otherwise be shredded by magic. The eventual goal of the build is to slot 3 arcane barrier augs to add an additional 20, and potentially swap some filigrees out to run a 5 pc mystical defense set and add an additional 40. That would bring the MRR cap with my Mind & Matter set to 130. Still a weakness, but less so.
    You also lose a precious feat slot to have access to both Combat Expertise for tanking, and Precision for the swap to DPS mode.

    Additionally, I still need 5 more martial epic lives to finish the sphere, which will add another 39 AC, putting 500 in range under defensive boost. I am also reconsidering Deific Warding. The initial 10 PRR is handy, but I don't get to see the extra 20 all that much just for lack of being hit. Lets get into the build.

    A dedicated tank in R10 quests is suboptimal. The group is much better off to bring a DC Sorc along for instakills that can tank anything that can't be instakilled.

    I thought it was untyped, but if someone who has can confirm? I would be sad if so, but it would also save me a not insignificant number of Strahd runes . . .
