    Default Saddle Bags!

People have been complaining about not having enough inventory space for a long while now, and the devs haven't really shown extreme promise towards updating inventory space directly. But what about, instead of upgrading your inventory space...we can use saddle bags for our horses? I am thinking 25-50 slots for one horse, basic horses getting 25, upgraded or premium horses getting 50. It could be accessed via your character sheet, much like Artificer/Druid dogs. Perhaps give a warning that it cannot be accessed during quests, so people don't put vital questing items in there. I think it could solve the inventory issue, at least for now.

You do understand that for devs it's exactly the same thing? The fact that you'll name additional inventory space "saddle bags" means literally nothing, it's just additional space. In fact it could cause even more problems (and it means there's lesser chance it'll be implemented) than normal inventory space, cause they would have to connect it with horses (so it's not just simple adding few shared bank slots or backpack tab, it's adding entirely new system that needs to be coded from scratch, as well as adding new safety mechanisms to prevent losing items in case of, for example, throwing away mounts.). It also means potential source of new bugs/duping events since everything connected with horses could cause exploits. And one more thing: they're going to rework horses and make them similar to creature companions, so:
    1. They're going to work like creature companions, not like druid/arti dogs.
    2. Since the mounts system is going to be remade, you can be 100% sure they won't make any changes before new system will be done, especially as significant as the one you're proposing.

Not everything will always turn out how you say it will. It was just a cool idea.

Lemme rephrase it: for you (and other players) it's just cosmetic thing without much affect on gameplay, just an additional banking/inventory space with new window. For devs it's a lot of work and some risk of very serious exploits (which can always happen when introducing new banking system).

Perhaps it could just be like a new inventory space that is only accessible by those with horses?

My hope is that, after the systems people get 'lag' under control, they can undertake a complete overhaul of storage.

Right now, every player can use the 30 Character Slots from the DDO Store to generate close to 8,000 units of Bound to Account storage. Unfortunately, while they work, storage characters suck. It sucks to unlock storage via Favor. It sucks to pay for storage on a character you do not want to exist. It sucks to build and maintain a spreadsheet to track what storage character carries what. It sucks to regularly sort equipment to and from storage characters.

If a storage overhaul takes place, I would much prefer more Backpack and Bank storage to some new form of theme storage. I know Saddle Bags seem fun and reasonable but I have no desire to pull out a horse to access my stuff. The same goes for character housing chests. Just put all that new space in my Backpack or Bank, thank you very much.

Also, less storage types means less code to write means less code to break means less future problems. Is that even a proper sentence?
