Sorting coins by hand (or paw) provides many employment opportunities and also makes it easier for the lower lords to make some money vanish into their pockets before it reaches the higher lords.

When you have so many coins you can Scrooge McDuck dive into the vaults, it's too much even for coin sorters to handle.
If you hire a warforged to sort your coins, does that count as coin-sorting technology?
Torimi, Syken, and Lursana Dragonheart of Phoenix Clan on Orien
Hi,
I'll give that a go
Thanks Tim
In a way they do, it's called Kobold slave labor.
A little know fact about the Coin Lords is that they do actually have Lords sorting technology- despite their best efforts, they haven't found a method of making this technology pivot into coin sorting... short of liberal applications of the spells "Reduce Person," "Flesh to Stone," and "Modify Memory."
Coin sorting technology? That's a thing of the past. Coin Lords converted everything of theirs to Sharn Credit System.
No longer required, all loose change was used to fund the purchase of a Nyan Cat familiar
Why have coin-sorting technology when you can just extort adventurers who auto-convert coins.
Just a random, forgettable NPC doing things an NPC does
Things that NPCs do include, but are not limited to:
Having a gold goblet over my head to indicate availability of a quest
Having a catchphrase that never really catches on
Having various rewards that are generally not worth the trouble
Wandering around randomly
Giving out obvious information if it wasn't obvious enough
Repeating the same lines over and over again
Repeating the same lines over and over again
Is this a reply?
because their are multiple Coin Lords Coin Lord of Silver, Bronze ect ect and they all minted the coin type under their control which they jealously guard their minting process and refuse to share out of jealousy They competition for political position in so fierce, that the only way to become a Coin Lord is if are current one dies (even under mysterious conditions so if Gold Coin Lord where to die Silver gets to step up and then copper, and they recruit a new Coin Lord for the lowest tier value.
I'm waiting for the Devs to work this into a story line so we can stop Coin Lord assassination attempts and make some phat plat in the process! It will probably start off with election fraud and riots at the banks, heck there might even be some counterfeiting going on, so don't take money from strangers!
I find it funny that I've been playing game since it started and I get fools playing the game 10 years or less who think they know it all, when all they do is play very narrow recommended builds from streamers or their elite hero's.
Why never been me...

Who says they don't?
