Default Capped Ranger Double strike/Offhand math?

Hi. I am a little confused on how Double strike and Offhand are calculated. Fully equipped with Heavy Maces, I see 26% DS and 50% OS. Using light weapons, I see 15/35.

Here are the bonuses I am aware of: TWF->GTWF+PTWF+WhirlingSteel+Whirlwind+Dervish+Improve d Scourge weapons(5% DS)-gives oversized two weapon feat+Greater Scourge weapons (5% DS and OS)+1% Filigree bonus+10% artifact bonus to DS/OS

Does the 26%/50% make sense? I would think main hand would be much higher. My base DEX is 14 with a +2 tome but Ranger auto-granted GTWF. Thanks

Your doublestrike is bad but your Offhand DS is great. Let's go through the sources of Offhand DS first. 25% from dervish. You can get 6% offhand DS from scourge lives. You can get 10% more from vistani. Greater scourge weapons you can get 5% more offhand doublestrike but only with those 4 weapons. You can get 10% offhand DS from perfect twf.

So as an assassin, my main has 10% (PTWF), 6% (scourge lives) 10% vistani 26% offhand doublestrike. He does have 100% offhand attacks though.

Doublestrike is feasible to rub against 100% though. My assassin has near 100% doublestrike. So a single attack for him is

base attack, doublestrike on that attack nearly always, offhand attack (at 100% probability, vistani or tempest or monk can get there), offhand doublestrike at 26%.

A typical ranger would have 25% + 6% +10%, or 41% offhand DS. They might get close to 50% in some more odd builds.

Thank you ValariusK. Other than a magic item, are there any other ways to increase my double strike? Why does the wiki say 80% for GTWF?

It means 80% chance for your offhand to strike the target in the first place. After the initial strike there is a percentage chance that strike will doublestrike depending on your offhand doublestrike is at.

As a Ranger your offhand becomes 100% with the 2nd core Tempest: +10% stacking chance to make off-hand attacks when dual wielding weapons and Core 4 Tempest Whirlwind: +10% stacking chance to make off-hand attacks when dual wielding.

So offhand chance of initial strike and then offhand doublestrike gets its chance.
