Does the Epic TR followed by Heroic TR bug still exist?

Hey folks. Returning to the game after several years and I'm going to reincarnate to relearn everything. I'm level 30, and wanted to do an Epic Reincarnation followed immediately by a Heroic Reincarnation. However, the DDO Wiki states the following:

Warning regarding reincarnation!
It is perfectly legal to perform an Epic Reincarnation (from Level 30 to 20), followed immediately by a Heroic or Racial Incarnation (which takes you from Level 20 to either Level 1 (new heroic) or 15 (new iconic)). HOWEVER, a bug has been observed to occur which can erase much or all of that character's inventory, tomes, etc!

To avoid this bug, it is currently advised that you
LOG OUT COMPLETELY after speaking with the Life Shaper, closing down the game
Wait a few minutes, giving the game time to update any relevant details
Use the Reincarnate option to recreate your character
LOG OUT COMPLETELY after character generation, closing down the game
Wait a few minutes, giving the game time to update any relevant details
Log back in and continue
There currently is not 100% proof that this will prevent this bug, but a considerable amount of anecdotal evidence points in that direction
Likewise, it is recommended that you DO NOT log out in the middle of any individual reincarnation (only after it is complete)

Allow yourself ample time, especially if you need to re-build a complex character

It is not a bug as such.

Things happen if you have lag during the reincarnation process. Restarting the client after waiting a couple of minutes minimise the risk of lag.

I believe there has been significant work to help minimize the risk. However, I can say that since I've followed the "exit client" before/between Reincarnations I've not had to contact an in game GM to restore lost ED XP (I was fortunate to not have lost a Tome)

I still highly recommend taking these steps, I don't know if that completely avoids the situation, I can only speak to that situation not occurring for me since I implemented those steps.

I've been following those steps since before that post was even made, and I've never had any issues with reincarnation. Client refreshing is a good way to reduce lag, regardless. Anyone who has ever jumped across multiple bank mules without logging out can probably attest to this.

From what I have read, yes. Rare but does happen.

Log completely out. I personally reboot my computer. After the ER and the TR. Cross your fingers and prey to The Dark Six it doesn't happen to you. If "Kobald still hate you!" then everything is ok (ok, not really but I found it funny).

Whatever the reason for the bug, it's still a bug.

There is much less risk of experiencing the bug than there used to be, but there is still a risk.

Epic reincarnate. Make sure your TR Cache is emptied. Take a few minutes to move all of your BtA gear to your various mules so you have less to worry about after the TR. Log out of DDO. Go make a sandwich. Sign back in to DDO and do your TR.

Just do the logout and exit to desktop after you flag each reincarnation. It works.

If the server you are on is really misbehaving that day with step lag and such then wait until it has been reset to do the reincarnations.
