Default Looking for a good build for a first time player.

This is my first DDO experience and Favored Soul looks to be the class that really grabs me, I am a bit lost regarding point distribution, I believe I want to go into Wisdom for Mass Frog but that is the extent of my knowledge there. Do I go multi-class in any other classes a couple of levels for quality of life? Any advice or tips would be immensely appreciated. Most of the guides I read were advanced with some past life and bonus point stuff I am not yet familiar with.

FS is not typically a "starting" class, even for VIP - did you purchase it separately?

What kind of playstyle were you interested in? FS can go melee, ranged, caster, or healer (tho' that last is less important in the current game).

I purchased it separately already. I was planning on going caster/healer if possible.

Just fyi, you would have earned FS free by the end of your 1st life (so ready for your 2nd life), and there are several other similar features in the game. There would have been more than enough options to keep you busy until then.

But it's done now - and unless you have wads of cash to spend, just slow down on "buying" stuff until you are sure you know what you're getting.

FVS is a great class, I did a lot of hardcore leagues as one because they have great offense, heals, and can be bulky too.

I'd say go all wis. Fvs can use wis for atk/dam as long as fvs is the majority of your levels. I'm a bigger fan of the angel of vengeance tree because sunbolt is badass. You could always go more melee with warsoul and grab a 2h weapon.

Be on the lookout for nice medium armor, and maybe even take heavy armor proficiency (gives you a lot more PRR if you're proficient). At lv 7 definitely choose the HP boost over SP.
Mains - Messam, Indalecio, Mozenrath, Quackerjack.

I found a guide on here that was for inquisiter but I liked the idea of having heals and crowd control type spells then using a crossbow for damage.

You can focus on DPS and still heal really well. IMO no need to focus on healer, but do focus on caster. I like WIS for Mass Frog later on. You may also want to focus on your DCs for Destruction and Slay Living. My fav. SLA is Sunbolt. I max the Spellcraft skill.

For the winter games I'm running FVS for Leap of Faith (feat). I switch my Enhancements from time to time, but currently running these (some Falconry off screen for extra heal amp).

Side note I'm still mostly running mid-teens gear and will do a gear swap level 25-ish.
