Default Level 28 Aasimar Scourge Tempest Ranger - what next?

Hi. I'm 1st life and enjoy the aesthetics/healing of this Iconic build (could only afford a couple minor tomes though) https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...92#post6250592 Not much into farming (e.g. Phosphors) so ended up with Beacon of Night/Beacon of Day (augments filled) and about to switch to the legendary versions
Where I've struggled is performance (damage and PRR most I think). At 15 I was strong, small bump at 20 and a real slog after that (Note: I've only played Monk, Barbarian and Warlock so this could be a comparison thing on a more "Gear dependent" character). Strangely, attack speed does not feel fast. Could it be due to maces being heavy weapons? I have Improved/Greater Scourge Weapons but haven't messed with the Aasimar Scourge's Divine Form - seems too convoluted so my points went towards stronger bird attacks. I usually wear at least 2 of the following: Speed/Alacrity/Doublestrike. For ED, I started with Primal Avatar for the early heals, then finished Fury and (Ugh)Shiradi, now back on Primal to finish it up. Once at cap, what would you suggest? I'm trying to only Epic reincarnate but if Heroic could address perceived weaknesses, I'm open to it. Thank you

So what are you trying to do, and are you having fun? Playing solo or with a group? Playing high reaper at level, or playing Epic Normal? Where and how you are playing factors into the questions of "feel", like the attacks feel slow, as you mentioned.

This can be a very strong iconic, but then it depends on so much. Gear, past lives, playstyle... or maybe none of those, depending on difficulty you choose. The jump from herioc to epic can sometimes feel like hitting a wall, especially if you are just beginning to unlock your epic destinies.

Thanks. I play solo mostly - sometimes small group. Gear is appropriately slotted for character but at least 50% random loot at any given level. I run epic normal (hard when I know the quest/have help. In contrast, the Warlock can solo hard). I don't think I've run reaper and would only do so in a powerful group.
I like to run fairly fast-but not Zerg. Would say my patience is average but lose it with long or convoluted quests(e.g. some Ravenloft has been challenging in that way).
Some of the slow feel may be comparing to other players (and my own characters). One experiment i did involved holding down the attack button (W/auto attack on). I cycled through my trip and special moves and noticed there is a break in there. Never figured it out so just clicking at the same time. I’m accustomed to strafing/jumping around the enemy but that seems to slow my attacks so i just stand there toe to toe. Note: i have spring attack. Hope this helps
