The Kighter, a Half-Elf Rogue/Monkcher (Arcane Archer)

Hello all! This is Illmer, my wisdom based Rogue Falconer. It is a build with DPS focus first, but it has some nice, back-up, crowd control too. Wisdom based has a lot of nice synergies with the Falconry and Arcane Archer trees for Paralyze and Bird attacks and the damage is fine (Id say great even!). Its a glass canon, but played carefully its a huge asset to the party. Its built around high ranged power and crit multipliers, for those fun Hunt's End/Slaying shots!

Pretty stars-aligned! But near impossible to stack Vulnerability on dummy. Here is a better T-Rex crit with Vulnerability and Timestop

Why Rogue?
I wanted a class with uncanny dodge, to use "Through the Mist" filigree for the ranged power. The 15d6 sneak attack also helps!

Doesn't Manyshot and 10K Stars share cooldown?
Yes they do, but you can sorta chain them anyway. 10K, Manyshot, (10sec cooldown), 10K, (30sec cooldown), repeat. So thats 80sec with a bonus and 40sec without. During 120sec cycle I get 2/3rd uptime then, not too bad!

Whats the focus of the build? Just DPS?
I specced mostly for DPS yes, but it is also wisdom-based and can paralyze (maybe need to gear for it), and single target + AoE Blindness/Fort reduction (again gearing helps). Then I can also trap, but with just 12 starting Int this also takes gear lol

Whats the difference compared to your 10rog 6mnk 4fgt?
4 fighter got me Wpn Spec for 1atk 2dmg 4rp, you could also fit in Shot on the Run instead, if that ever gets worthwhile to take. The 13rog went for more sneak atk, up 5d6 from just more lvls and Imp sneak feat. I also got Opportunist for 10% extra Fort Bypass.

Any kind of wiggleroom in the build?
I took Pastlife feats, if you dont like those you can substitute. This build also works with Elf so you can get some pastlives with some variations of the build, the obvious Rog PL or Half Elf PL or Elf PL

Are you doing 172 million damage or is it 1 billion 724 million damage? I have the confusion.

Hehe yeah it looks a bit wierd! There is a + missing, between 339,843 (+) 5,101... Combat log has it right, for a total of 344,944 dmg. And 177,507 dmg the 5,101 is sneak attack.

But Im very happy with nearly 350k dmg

Sweet damage, I wondered how far slayers can be pushed these days.

I swapped Enlightenment for Lily Petal a while back, there's defo more ki generation with that. Still sucks trying to remember to spam it constantly out of combat but it's actually possible to recharge in decent time if you find yourself ook.

Also, I find shock arrows take an age to stack vulnerability, even with liberal use of final strike. Do you use the KT bow or similar for fetters before switching to Twisted Willow?

I'm more curious why the second number is the same across all three shots.

It is the sneak attack damage, I guess it only rolled once in old system?

And if you see my new pic, the 12,438 is sneak. If we divide by 3 thats 4,146 per arrow which actually is a lower roll than the pic you linked.

Hello all! This is a recent, new take on my Arcane Archer. I decided to make a new thread, as I wasnt too happy with a rogue build in the fighter forum 8) I have kept the name for sentimental reasons and, hey, he still has one fighter level! This is a wisdom based AA Falconer, built for high crits via Hunt's End from the Shiradi epic Destiny... "Furyshots"! I have, but didnt spec for paralyzing arrows, instead I use shock arrow stance for the vulnerability. I have now tried to spec for paralyze, and I must say its functional! Its not no-fail level and wont work everywhere, but Im satisfied...

U50 is here with the endgame adjustments. That promts me to update the OP, but I am currently on a racial life, but I should return to the Kighter in the near future! I have also been doing test builds for an alternate version of the build. A Bardcher! With doubleshot focus, and I must say it seems pretty powerfull, maybe more damage than /1 monk - but do check back to see what Im doing

Updated OP with my numbers after stat squish. I still need a reaper tree pic (but close to a breakpoint) and maybe a max crit screenie like I usually do Also Im working on 10th slot in my bow, that will be another +5 rare ranged power.

Hi Ilm

Took me a while, but finally got this to 30. Heroic leveling was tougher than expected, with Longbow still behind xbow plinkplinkers of every stripe. Bow attack speed feels so slow...

BUT later (in Epic levels) it really shines: extremely survivable (I went for Meld into Darkness over sense weakness), and with Hunt's End reliably doing 5- and 6-digit damage (with Imp Precise Shot watching multiple mobs get one-shotted on low-mid legendary reaper is a treat).

Plus, paralysing arrows + wisdom build = fun and profit.

All this despite my gear being sub-optimal - I'm working with leg shadowhail set for now (still assembling bits for leg wallwatch, so far I have... zip). Using a Morninglord bow (6 semi-random filligrees) and some other bits of Ravenloft and Sharn gear. Ranged Power just approaching 200.

But still it shines.

Nice one. 5-stars. Would level again.
