Default Make Additional Storage Account Wide?

Right now if you buy additional stash or inventory tabs, its only good on the one character you buy it for.

That's not really a good model (at least not at the price point) because you can always just buy a character slot and make a new mule. Its a little more inconvenient, yes, but that's several times more storage space since every character starts with several tabs (and can unlock a couple more in-game fairly easily). I'd like to see stash and inventory tabs become account-wide (even if it means increasing the price a little to compensate), so that you unlock a new slot on every character when you buy one.

Does that mean way cheaper storage for players? Of course. This is one of the top longrunning complaints from the playerbase. But this isnt just a "gief free plx" thread, I think it would be a sound business decision for SSG too, because instead of tabs and char slots competing with each other, they'd complement each other. The more character slots you buy, the more storage you get from each tab you buy. The more tabs you buy, the more space each new character slot you buy gets. It'd encourage you to buy both. Its like power creep for SSG's revenue stream.

I thought that is why they came up with the Shared Bank.

Sure you can't store BTC items. So if that is the main filler of your bank tabs it doesn't solve inventory for you.

I still think if they merge the Current Character Bank and TR Cache into the Shared Bank UI then the ability to expand both BTC and Other inventory issues would have a more straightforward path.

Of course I also think they need to add a cosmetic tab to the Shared Bank as well. I know I would be one to say "take my money" if they did .

I think the number one bank change to do is: Make Coin Lord and House K favor rewards something else, and give you the extra pack and bank slots for free.

This would eliminate the TR cache mechanic entirely. I have to believe that if they realized what a PITA it would be, magnified over years and some people TRing hundreds of times per character, they would have just thrown in the towel on Coin Lord and House K favor rewards back when they introduced reincarnation, and never created this troublesome mechanic.

Shared bank makes muling possible, but additional slots just make it more convenient to mule large sets of items, or to store items you're actively sharing back and forth. You're still going to buy a new slot to mule before you buy 5 more expansions to shared storage for actually storing items, long term.

They aren't going to change this. It's just annoying enough that people who don't mind spending/have money to burn are going to go for it and they'd rather collect money times however many toons those kind of players choose to do it on than once per player ever.

Considering that inventory space is account wide on Lotro then this is not at all unreasonable.

Makes no difference for me though, I have max inventory and bank space on all my active characters and then some
