    Question Wee Blue Dodgy Augments!

Where can I lay my grubby mitts on em?

Not in store or any vendor I can find.

Waiting for one to drop or appear on the AH (likely for some ridiculously high price) may take what feels like a glacial age.

Don't be Blue Meanies - get em up for sale please SSG. The flexibility the new augments offer is great for gear Tetris, but no use if we can't get hold of em!

Yeah AFAIK they're just random drops

You can farm Challenges for them, probably the most direct way (though still pretty tiresome). Go to Kobold Island, kill the red name by the large collector, you'll get a chest in your inventory. Recall, repeat until you have a lot of chests. Open them all, and you have a small chance to get an Augment (as in every random-loot chest). You can also control the level of loot that way, though the chest level isnt the same as the level you set the challenge to, so you'll need to calibrate it first You dont have to deal with ransack like you do farming easily-accessed chests in quests, either.

One thing working in your favor is Dodge is usually a trash stat, so its likely they'll appear on the AH as soon as people start finding them. Or...they wont, because people will just delete them since Dodge is a trash stat

For plate builds Dodge augments seem amazing lol. You won't even need to slot it in gear anymore XD

Eh? DODGE is a 100% critical stat. None of my characters will leave paper to become real without maximum dodge. It's especially important in melee and tanks. It's FAR more important than concealment and incorporeal; consider the effort people spend on displacement clickies and multiply that by 10 and you've got a rough idea of how nice dodge is.

I pulled a 12 dodge one yesterday out of no refunds. Reaper 6 I think.

Dodge and Concealment are both trash stats thanks to Reaper (well in High Reaper). In Lower Reaper the benefits start diminishing quickly around r3. Rogue/Ranger NPC's both have Dodge bypass. This seems to be expanded upon when you enter Reaper content. Newer content seems to have every NPC able to bypass Dodge.

Concealment and Incorporeal are both negated with certain Champions (So hard Difficulty :/). In Reaper there was an adjustment that you lose a % of your Concealment and Incorporeal ability the higher the Reaper level. Then add in more Champions with True Seeing and it becomes a garbage stat.

It's a critical stat to max, yes. But it's a trash stat on gear still because you get so much of it from so many sources that you rarely need to spend any additional opportunity cost to get to dodge cap. I don't think many builds will be able to replace a gear slot with a dodge aug because I don't think many builds are spending a gear slot just for dodge. Especially heavy armor builds where you just need one thing with even just insightful or quality dodge to hit your mdb.

Back when all melee used the Mantle of Fury, yeah all my melee got it maxed without trying. These days, it's on nothing that fits other than a couple items from very rarely run raids. Dodge augments are absolutely by far the top augment I want. I'd buy a Dodge+12 for 100 crystals without blinking -- it would save six months of raid farming.

Considering Dodge augments are never on either AH, my bet is other folks feel the same way.

I dont think dodge diminishes in reaper. Concealment is limited to some amount below EE level. The best method of defense is AC in reaper.

This is all difficulty dependent. Dodge is much better in reaper because as far I've experienced it doesn't diminish in reaper. Displace and incorp are much better for tanks as they max at 5 dodge with tower shield.

My tank has 20 dodge. Tower shields are for a very few highly situational boss fights and the gains are minimal. My tank's tower shields are kept in bank and I've yet to feel the need to take them out. 'Dunno where the whole tower/tank thing started, but basic math shows a tower shield is nearly always a very bad deal for a tank. Same thing with blocking. Almost always a bad deal.

Displace and incorporeal are diminished too much in high skull reaper and less than that is too easy to bother farming or using short-duration clickies or (sadly) to bother bringing a tank.
