If they're smart and limit themselves to just Electric Loop, maybe enough to run a small household for a few hours. If you're using pen and paper rules and they use some form of Permeancy, then given enough time they'll eventually solve all our energy needs.

If they try and go fancy with Ball Lightening or even just Lightening Bolt, they'll provide a whole lot of power that will only be useful for tripping all the circuit breakers in the city all at once.

Theoretically unlimited. But it depends how fast you turn his crank.

Depends on the size of the grid.

As much wood as a woodchuck *could* chuck if a woo... wait, watt? You asked about wizards providing electricity, not woodchucks chucking wood? Ohm an, that's not the one I volted for last week!

Noob to casters, but as far as I know, it depends on the build and the type of wizard they are. For example, an acid-based wizard don't give out as much electric damage as an electric-based wizard.

    Hope it's correct :P )

We're still awaiting local and regional government approval from the public service commission and the electric regulatory commission, as well as the filing of an environmental impact statement, before we can obtain a definitive answer.

The barbarians down at the drinking hole decided to find out, but by the time we jammed enough wires into him, he didn't seem to do much of anything.

Does he still count as a wizard if he's dead?

    Default Wizard

The average wizard, using stock level 10 gear, with a Max/Emp lightning bolt does an average of 326.3 damage.
The average lightning bolt according to the WDC, is 300mV, 30kA (9bKWh). The average house uses 10,649kWh.

Zappy the Wizard could power 845,149 houses, with a level-3 spell.... or kill a couple of kobolds apparently.

Practically none at all using lightning spells. It's been tried and it's just not possible to capture the energy from lightning strikes, they happen way too fast. However, using a spell like Wall of Fire to heat up some amount of water and forcing the steam through a turbine could produce quite a lot of electricity.

Doesn't matter. Kobold union already controls that racket, and they have PLENTY of Shamans to keep it going.
