Default How much electricity could a level 10 wizard provide to a power grid?

Watt do you mean? Trying to think of the answer really hertz.

If they're smart and limit themselves to just Electric Loop, maybe enough to run a small household for a few hours. If you're using pen and paper rules and they use some form of Permeancy, then given enough time they'll eventually solve all our energy needs.

If they try and go fancy with Ball Lightening or even just Lightening Bolt, they'll provide a whole lot of power that will only be useful for tripping all the circuit breakers in the city all at once.

Depends on the size of the grid.

As much wood as a woodchuck *could* chuck if a woo... wait, watt? You asked about wizards providing electricity, not woodchucks chucking wood? Ohm an, that's not the one I volted for last week!

about the size of a small house for an hour - though it can kill a large giant with wet diapers - obviously the grid is bigger than an archfey can light - that is a lot of juice even for a major magic junky.

Theoretically unlimited. But it depends how fast you turn his crank.

The barbarians down at the drinking hole decided to find out, but by the time we jammed enough wires into him, he didn't seem to do much of anything.

Does he still count as a wizard if he's dead?

    Default Wizard

The average wizard, using stock level 10 gear, with a Max/Emp lightning bolt does an average of 326.3 damage.
The average lightning bolt according to the WDC, is 300mV, 30kA (9bKWh). The average house uses 10,649kWh.

Zappy the Wizard could power 845,149 houses, with a level-3 spell.... or kill a couple of kobolds apparently.

None, they are too busy studying magic to waste time powering a power grid.

For EU (where I live) the calculations are

    1 average lightning bolt = 10^10 J

    A Wizard can cast 3600 s/ 4 s cool down = 900 lightning bolts in 1h

    In 1 work day for the Wizard : 8h * (900 lightning bolt / 1h) * 10^10 J = 72000000000000 J

    In EU a house use in avg 4000kWh per year : 4000*1000*3600 J = 14400000000 J

so 1 work day for the Wizard

    She could power 72000000000000 J / 14400000000 J = 5000 EU houses

This is without any equipment for spell power

Lets say Spell power are 500 and and Cooldown are 2 sec and crit are 30%. Then the wizard could power

    5000 * (500/100) * (4/2) * 1.3= 65000 EU houses for a year in 1 work day

    Shockingly good answer.
