Augmented Items

Recently,
I placed an augment gem into an item. This raised the minimum level of the item. Since then, I have TR'ed and pulled the augment out of the item. The item remained at the higher minimum level. Was that supposed to happen? I thought if the augment was removed, the item would go back to its original minimum level.

yes it must go back to original level. try to move it in and out inventory, bank, shared bank, or restart the game.
