Default Request best solo wizard build

    Hello,

I have been away from the game a long time so long all my characters are long gone.
I am looking for a solo Wizard build or a solo Wizard Sun Elf build.

I only play solo for all games and want a good Wizard build for solo play.
After browsing forum for days and several other sites I dont see any current builds.
I like spell based as much as possible and weapons as last resort.

So can anyone please point me to a good build?

    Thanks in advance
    Gren

I haven't posted it yet, but try out gnome or deep gnome illusionist with

    - palemaster - just enough for self healing
    - feydark illusionist - main tree with some force slas
    - archmage - either for more force slas if you need it and/or pk slas and force crit chance - currently leaning towards mm/cm slas at least for heroic leveling

WArforged is also a fine choice if you don't have the bonus racial AP to take advantage of gnome which would allow you to skip the palemaster entirely.

pk starts to lose it's sting in higher reaper esp at level 30, but it's still solid while leveling. Gonna take me a few lives to optimize, but much of it depends on personal playstyle and spell preferences.

So for dps slas I have

conjure stone (deep gnome) - week dps but free knockdown
    magic missle (archmage)
    chain missle (archmage)
    shadowblade (feydark)
    fan of shadowblades (feydark)
    ring of shadowblades (feydark)

And of course if you like the build, deep gnome lifes grant you one stack of illusion dc for the active feat. For epic levels I will likely end up changing around archmage for the pk sla which is really quite amazing (cheap with super short cooldown) - since enemy hp are higher and the instant kill is more beneficial. I have alot of racial ap so I take the deep gnome pk sla already.

Check out the build I posted under NecroKnight Trapper. (although in practise I ended up going T5 PM instead and focused more on the SLAs rather than EK T5...)

But basically an 18/2 Wiz/Rogue, INT based. Use Harper for INT to damage, PM in wraith or lich form for amazing, easy self-healing, EK for extra survivability and melee ability, and tweak as you desire. 2 rogue gives you evasion and ability to do all traps, unlock all doors, etc, so great for solo play. PM also give you the skeletal knight for back-up, lever pulling, soul stone grabber, etc. Add a hire and you have 2 extra hands for when you need them.

I recommend going SWF though, with an orb and Knight's Training feat for your melee option.

    1 Arti/18 Wiz/1 Ftr flexbile EldrichKnight.
I reached lv30 a few weeks ago on a new server with none support & all solo. It does well in most contents on Heroric Elite and Epic Elite/a few R1 ,and the leveling is pretty smooth, not very efficient though.

1 Arti for trap skills & rapid reload repeaters, with a core T5 EK spellsword it still has some dps to deal with range mobs, since Knight's Transformation put all your spell range to melee.
And you got shield profinciency for picking shield mastery at low level.

1 Ftr for extra feat and tower shield. You can either go Fatesinger or use a mythral one without penalty.(need 2ap to get -5% failure from EK shield profinciency)

Drop Evasion. You're using Full Plate & Tower Shield. With Int build you can disarm most traps, with average PRR/MRR you can survive the others.
Drop Heighten Spell,as most spell you will use are either no save or is a lv9 spell itself.
Drop Concerntion,as you either cast with quicken or cast out of battle.

1-4 AP all goes into harper for int damage.with a common reapeater you can just one-shot or two-shot anything in sight.
4-11 6AP in EK grab your spellsword,6AP in PM for lich shroud. keep 1ap in skellie knight,it taunts alot and tough enough, it is also a lever puller(if it dies you can use your iron defender for instead.)
12-16 reset AP tree and split into EK/PM.drop harper for now, tho it is good but your first piority is EK's T6 stuffs. If you feel hard to tank something that is not friendly to melee like the demon queen, turn off Knight Trans to kite it like typical casters or just use your repeater.
16-20 you got heavy armor profinciency.gear up like a typical fighter, cast a death aura and slash/blast everything in your way.
epic-legendary you starting to meet battles require some control, but deal to the amazing selfhealing of PM(automatic, that frees your moves, fatal important),some sort of slow like icestorm/acid fog with a symbol of death is quite enough, all of these are no save.when your radient forcefield is ready to deploy, engage with a eldrichtempest(knockdown and slow) following all your cleaves/nuke spells and hang for another turn.
