Maybe I'm being dense but where are the pre-order bonuses? It isn't specified what is or isn't, can't remember if that was the case last time though.

I would assume that pre-ordering gives access to the U47 Shifter/Iconic now, and maybe the cosmetics and mounts.

It gives you an additional point to spend on your active destiny. Has nothing to do with twists of fate.

Ah, that makes sense. So definitely useful if there's one point of ability that you need to pick up in a tree and can't quite afford it. This might conceivably be more useful once they reveal their ED revamp, but since right now you get all your points straight away at 20, it seems very niche. The Universal and Racial points from Ravenloft/Sharn were better because they provided a distinct benefit from level 1 that was otherwise totally unavailable. This isn't in the same league - but again, that could change depending on what the ED revamp looks like.

No pre-order bonuses. They stopped doing that; there's just tier bonuses and being able to do things like play on the new races/trees right away vs waiting.

Which, to me, getting the ability to play the new races and the new tree immediately instead of waiting three months is a bonus to pre-ordering. YMMV of course.

I already have Epic Destinies, I really hope that they are not billing us for that.

They are, because they've removed the shards and pots/cake (not that the pots were worth much to most, I think) from the previous two releases and selling you EDs again.

A Tome of Destiny +1 for all your characters existing and new, giving an extra point to spend in all your Epic Destiny trees. Is what it says.

Hmmm, that means Tome of Destiny +2 should be around the corner, and that would be interesting for a couple EDs.

I am a full supporter of the mind set of - when you sell a package, you should be able to purchase
the various parts separately on the same day.
YES ---- the package should save money over buying all the stuff separately
but some of us just want one or two things.

---- YES they sell them separately ... MONTHS later.

Just saying, they should sell the major parts ala-carte on day one.

Well assuming the unicorns are bound to account like the KotB horses(which I sure hope is the case) then the ultimate fan bundle only taxes you for 3 inventory slots. Not bad.

I really hope some kind of storage pass is incoming very soon.

hahahaha the "recommended" tag on the most expensive bundle. pretty sure it's been there in the past but it doesn't make it any less amusing to me.

I just have to see more before I spend some money. I'm going to give SSG the benefit of the doubt for now, but you're not showing much here. You need to show some stuff off. It's early of course so I'll wait. I have zero incentive to buy anything but the basic pack. Your Shifters fell extremely flat and Feydark is something that probably will earned by favor.

My question would be: How is a tome of destiny different than the already existing tomes of fate? If they don't stack, that's a massive disincentive to get the ultimate pack.

Ravenloft and Sharn ultimate packs did have a fair amount of stuff to recommend them over the medium grade pack. I'm not seeing it this time around.

Epic Bard Hireling - Don't care, waste of inventory space.
Razorclaw Shifter Iconic - Nice to be sure, but I have DOZENS of lives to run before then, plenty of time to get store points and get it in a year. Or three.
Eladrin Cosmetics - Don't care, waste of 3 inventory spaces.
Displacer Beast cosmetic pet - Don't care, but at least it doesn't waste an inventory space.
Black Unicorn Mount - Don't care, the White one is in the medium pack, and I already have a horse. Waste of inventory space.
Teleport to Feywild - Ok? But convenience at best.
Tome of Destiny +1 - Might be good, more info needed.

Spending $50 to occupy 6 inventory slots sounds like a really bad deal to me. Those 6 inventory slots are worth more than all of those items could ever be.

Looking at the editions, the medium pack doesn't look so great either.

Feydark Illusionist Tree - Potentially useful for those pure Charisma builds and whatnot. I assume that like Inquisitive and Vistani, it will be attainable via favor in Feydark, so this is valueless.
Character Slot - I already have enough of those.
Feywild Cosmetics - Waste of 3 inventory slots.
White Unicorn - I already have a horse. Unless this is MASSIVELY (not just slightly) faster or provides some other benefit like being more difficult to be dismounted by rando attacks in the wilderness, it is useless.
Cosmetic Pet - All cosmetic pets are a waste.
Heroic Bard Hireling - Would need to see an ability list of this hireling, but odds are it will not be very useful above what I can get with platinum (or perm gold seals I already have).

So that leaves the basic pack. Feywild and Shifter - I already have Epic Destinies, I really hope that they are not billing us for that.

Once again, they fail to get my money.

Why not have all that cosmetic stuff AND add in some SSG points/xp pots/astral shards/slayer pots/those pots that increase chances of finding named items/etc.?

I paid top price for expansions when they added stuff that was actually useful for my characters in-game.

I have NOT paid top price for the past two times, and I've told them why. Cosmetic junk doesn't cut it for me.

Sure, it works for some people, but why not offer the other stuff TOO, and increase your sales to both groups?

I'd love to give SSG some money, but I'm not giving them money for free. The cosmetic and pet and mount stuff is worthless to me, and even the enhancements and races I can get later with favor/DDO point purchase.

Heck, just throw in an Otto's Box or something. I haven't bought an Otto's box in YEARS, and I have no plans to buy one in the future, so it's not like they are going to miss out on a sale... But throwing something like that in might be enough to tip me over to spending the money for the top pack.

I mean, sure I want the Epic Destiny +1 thing... But I'm not paying all that money for JUST that.

When I bought MotD, I was excited... I spent that money FAST and without any regret at all... What's wrong with offering deals that make your customers EXCITED to give you money?

That doesn't change the fact that this page will be online later today for the official 'release'. And besides a few screenshots and artwork it doesn't show anything of the content actually in the packs.

The absence of XP pots, shards, loot boosters, VIP time...is actually kind of baffling.

The ultimate Sharn bundle came with 140 Astral Shards, 3 Major Guild elixirs, 20 Treasure Hunter Elixirs, 5 mirrors of Glamouring, and the Dimensional Augment bag.

The ultimate Ravenloft bundle came with 140 Astral shards, 3 Resurrection Cakes, 2 Rest Shrines, 5 mirrors of Glamouring, and 2 months of VIP.

You can argue over how much any of those items are worth to a given player, but all of those things (except maybe the mirrors) are definitely useful. 2 months of VIP is a $30 equivalent. I see nothing even close to that in the Feywild offerings.

Ultimate fan bundle - always get that on expansions since MOTU because, well, why not.

My only question is, and if someone can answer once the game is back up and logged in, is if the 2 x unicorns on ultimate are bound to account - if not, then I need to check which character I load in first that will be the lucky recipient - laters all, off to work for us poor Aussies
