Night Revels

Has there been any word on when Night Revels might drop this year?

It is October and I have some cosmetic armors to grind out!

I'm in no hurry for another event quite yet. We had hardcore, and then Crystal Cove just recently. Give it another 2 weeks or so

In another 2 weeks it'll nearly be the holiday. Personally, I like the 1/year events to stick around longer than just a week because real life happens and it stinks to have to wait an entire year simply because the stars didn't align for you to have time to invest in DDO when the event dropped.

Yes please bring it on i missed it last year real life happen so i need time to get some stuff this round and some of us don't deal with hardcore and lag death on server side.

We were supposed to get a "real" run of Crystal Cove too, not just a short TLAPD Weekend run

At this point they might have to run both at the same time

ok, we love events (usually) we just don't like the lag part

as odd as it sounds
make a holiday server - give it a sec

a dedicated server that we can use for various holidays
You can NOT create a character there, ---> However
you can freely transfer other characters to it and away free during the event.

every character you bring over gets a token that they can not drop or lose
that identifies their home server. So after the event is done the program can
automatically return them to their server (via ID token)

all lag issue are restricted to the holiday server

even better if this could be accomplished via an in game portal that
teleports you to the holiday server.

think of it as a ....holiday multiverse dimension
you also can meet character from other servers there.
very 'MCU'

According to the Wiki, the start dates have been:

Thursday, October 10th to Sunday, November 3rd

Oct 23 - one-day preview

Oct 28 - Nov 9 (ending around 9am USA Eastern time)

Nov 19 - Nov 23 (ending around 10am USA Eastern time)

So, I'd expect it to start in about a week or 10 days, if history holds.

Yes, there seems to be a disturbing new trend of events being just afterthoughts that we have to ask for. CC only being the encore TLAPD this year instead of the full August run was really disappointing. I hope Revels doesn't get the same treatment. I don't think it's a coincidence that the lessened focus on events coincides with the very rapid increase in focus on Hardcore over the past year. Makes me sad

Yes, we are currently planning to turn Night Revels on very soon, perhaps this Thursday. The event will be the same as last year's, and no new dungeons or items have been added this year. Sorry. But, we also know there are still plenty of people would like to get stuff from previous years, and we'll do our best to update Night Revels in future years.

One other change this year is this: We will not be deprecating last year's ingredients. Normally, when we introduce new items, we want people to start fresh for the year on Night Revels. However, with nothing new this year, it seemed like a good idea to not remove last year's ingredients. So, some of you are ahead a bit (or a lot) while others of you have already ditched your ingredients, to which we say: sorry! Still, for those who didn't, that should be kinda nice. This will allow us to get Night Revels out in time for the festivities of October while still releasing Update 47 in the very near future and our expansion later this year.

So, current plan is to enable Night Revels later this week, but we'll have a formal Announcement thread announcement when the time comes.

Boo! I can't take advantage of last year's ingredients not going bad. Figures the first year I tossed everything right after the event (which wasn't much honestly) they would be good for the next year. That'll teach me to be proactive.
