Got my Jibbers Blade but...

So, a thing happened today during a regular session with some mates.

We decided to do a quick R1 Jibber's run with less than 10 mins to spare before server restart. Got to end room with ~1min to go. Killed Jack Jibbers with 19 seconds to go, ran to the chest, blade dropped for guildie who passed it to me with 9 seconds on the clock. I looted, gleefully. (I wish I had taken a screenshot, would have been a good contender for screenshot of the week).

But now I have just one burning question; will it still be in my inventory when servers reopen? Was there enough time for the game to save..?

I cannot say whether it will be there or not, but what i can say is i think it should be there. You played within the open hours of the servers regardless if it came close. If it was me and it was not there when the servers open i would bug report it.

Sorry in advance for the possibility of having no Jibber's Blade in your inventory upon logging back in after the shutdown. I look forward to hearing how this story ends, hopefully in your favor.

P.S. A slightly less entertaining end to the story will be the onslaught of fire and brimstone that will plague this thread when you realize that you do not have a Jibber's in your inventory. Both will be entertaining endings. Best of luck!

I always make sure I never run that close to the servers going down.

People have lost loot like that before, it seems to me they literally just pull the plug on the servers without making sure everything is saved first.

If I where you I would just forget about that Jibbers blade now, if you have it when you log in consider yourself lucky.

As the guildie that passed the blade ... I can tell you all this was one our most fun moments playing this game.

We never really expected to see the blade drop, of course, the thrill was all in trying to finish the quest before the server went down. It was touch and go, edge-of-our-seats stuff. Could not believe it when I saw the blade there. No time for a die roll, just passed it. Has my clicking finger ever seemed so slow before?

I was there, and even I want to know!

I want a separate server which shuts down at random 2-3 times a day, giving you 10 minutes to finish a quest, deliberately set up for thrill junkies.

Even ignoring the Jibbers, this was super exciting.

I, respectfully, couldn't disagree more. As a previous poster stated, I obtained it during legitimate game play (where do they draw the line - 30 secs, 1 min, 5 mins before server restart? In which case, what is the point of have an appointed time in the first place?)

Had it not been there, I most certainly would have logged a ticket and expected a positive result (and fairly sure they would have been sympathetic, they have always been very helpful in my experience).

Anyway, it was there and now i plan to die loads in quests just so i can use it.

I am not saying you are wrong, and it is how it SHOULD be.

But it is not. People have posted here on the forums after loosing very rare raid loot like this, and they got no help from posting a ticket.

What I am saying is, I am not taking any chances.

Because they seem to not shut down the servers in a controlled manner, they just pull the plug without making sure data has been saved. And if a player loose out because of that they are met with a shrug.

So I post based not on how I wish things to be, but how they really are. You can disagree all you want with that

Got it.

In SSG's defends I'd say the messages give us a clear notification that we should find a savespot before the server restarts.
Personally I don't count a quest instance a save zone.

Anyway, good that you did get it and yes I know the feeling.
(So yes, I do find myself in a quest from time to time at a server reboot, nothing as funny as finding your stone in a tavern of some sorts.)
