Default Might I make a suggestion for HCL that will ...smooth things out?

He is my suggestion, make HCL (2) servers
BUT --- only one is open at a time.

So you would have the League Server and a regular HC Server.

When League is running the Reg. HC Server is closed (On but you can not log into it)
When you die on the HCL, you no longer go to the dead lands, you are
transferred (alive) to the Reg. HC Server (locked while the HCL is going).

When the HCL ends, it stays open only 1 week (so you can wrap stuff up)
and a free transfer is allowed to the Reg. HC Server (only) ... Which opened as soon as the
League was done. (a transfer anywhere else can be made from the Reg HC Server, but at the standard prices)

Now with the Reg. HC Server up, your dead toons are alive in the character list
along with any toons you transfer over in that last week after League.

After the 1 week (after party) any remaining toons are automatically transferred over to the Reg. HC Server and
    the League Server shuts down.

The Reg. HC Server stays open for open HC play, also guilds created here stay.
It is basically a regular server with HC rules.
When League starts again, the door is closed on the Reg. version (no wipe) until the League is done
    again (then it reopens)

ok ... Why do all that?

One of the issues with HCL is after it is done, finding room on other servers (if you don't have a lot
of open character slots) it can be an issue.

Allowing transfer from HCL ----> HC Regular (ONLY) will be easier. Since it is one way only, the
player can do absolutely nothing and his/her toons will automatically be shifted.

    ************************************************

One of the pressures to to restart the League as quickly as possible is to keep players
that prefer that style of play happy (and spending money) ... with this plan, SSG doesn't need
to jam in as many seasons as humanly possible. Folks that like HC rules can just play
on the HC Reg. Server when there is no League active.

AND --- The players that ONLY play HCL for the prizes will spend more time of their home
servers because HCL will be less often and the HC Reg. Server does not have prizes. Less dead home servers.

    ************************************************

ok ....so what do you do with players that die on the Reg. HC Server?

    they turn into ghosts.

    What they can do ---

They can run guilds, interact with bank and AH.
Chat with other players (as ghosts)
    Still take up character slot.
Can be a gear mule in a pinch.

What they can NOT do ---

    Start a new guild
    Transfer (they are ghosts 'dead')
    Craft
    go in a dungeon
buy stuff from vendors (AH is ok)
    leave the city (Stormreach)

    so
HC only players get dedicated server (they are happy)
Non-HC players are happy...less league seasons to empty home servers
League only players - few seasons, less burn out (they are happy) 'There is only 1 Halloween event a year, that makes it special. SSG should make HCL the same.'
easier transfers (developers are happy) <---lol, I think

so it would be a win/win/win/win
    I think

    PEACE

    Default

Pass, that sounds all way too complicated lol.

My HC guys are **** compared to my live ones and I don't plan to play them any more lol. Their transfer is solely to bring me exp crystals and my dice roll prizes. If I happen to have room, they become a mule, otherwise, deletedom.

Anyone that did a lot of HC (successfully) has the DDO points to get a character slot. And I guess even if you kept dying eventually you'd get the points lol.
