Default Kind of a big deal unreachable control box.

I tried from the left, from the right, below, on the rock beside.. every single angle said the control box for the second slashing trap was blocked.

You stand on the "torch" to reach it. But only if you're on an evade based character as the blade will hit you otherwise (there could a sweat spot on the torch where the blade doesn't smack you, but I've never found it).

Its placing simply is not good. It should be changed. Imho.

There is, did it on an arti with no evade.

I should also note, you don't need to do it. There's 3 trap boxes in the instance. 1 gives you +10% xp, 2 gives you +20%, 3 gives you +20%... so the 3rd box is entirely skip-able.

Yeah, that's just pants on head. They need to move the box.

It's a little hard to say if that trap Control Panel was placed there on purpose or even if the boulder and blue crystal were mean to be at those positions. The panel is elevated; so it's possible the placing is actually correct and meant to be tricky to reach. ;-)

Half of you is reaching for something.

You'd probably have to ask: Flimsy Firewood, his speciality is creating puzzles and Content Design mostly Dungeon design so he'd likely know.

Where I'm standing (on the crystal container) in the screenshot above is a completely "safe spot" from the Blade trap, and where you can easily disable the trap. Ironically when you become "gigantic" the blade traps will be active again even if you disabled them previously (no Control panels).

Speaking on traps... Have you ever noticed how almost every control box is before the trap? What kind of stupid monster puts a trap in their home and the control box on the side the invaders will be coming from? It's like installing a deadbolt with the lever on the outside and the keyhole on the inside.

As a rule nearly all Control Panels in the game are positioned where it's completely safe to stand when performing: Disable.

The quest: Prove Your Worth (Epic) is rare; since it actually has one moving spinning blade trap, where several whirling blades will ALL eventually catch you up and make it hard to disable... But, only if you dally by the Control Panel for far too long LOL. You probably could count on one hand, the traps (with Control Panels) in game that can 'interrupt' when you are disarming the Control Panel - if you take the time to position yourself correctly.

I wouldn't be surprised if that torch stand containing the blue crystal wasn't meant to be embedded within the rock itself. Or maybe the default Control panel placement was never tested by Quality assurance. I can understand there being the need for you to climb the boulder-like rock. Although having the crystal torch obstruct, unless you hop onto the container itself, seems a little too sloppy to be well-planned.

hah! They have it there so they turn the traps on when they go out for a stroll. That they are still in there is what doesn’t make sense!
