    Default First Impression - Shifters

    The Ugly

I really hate the body. I like the new heads, hands and feats, but simply reusing the Human Frame rubs me the wrong way. It just doesn't look "bestial" enough. I have never totally understood how Keith viewed them in his vision of Eberron, but for me they were stuck at some point between the transformation of human and beast. So I wanted them to mabe be slightly hunched and maybe run using hands and feet.

    The Bad

A number of two handed weapons do not mesh with the female avatars, they end up floating about foot from where they are supposed to be. It actually was nauseating to watch the character fight with the weapon so far out of alignment with the frame.

The new heads, hands and feet have a clear line of connection with the Avatars frame. Color, size and occasional space delineate the difference.

I tried to build a big stick build using a shifter. It is not going to pretty to play this build through the lower levels of the game, the feats, enhancements, and other aspects do not align up through roughly level 12. I started to think about other potential builds and i see a lot of builds that have potential to play at the upper levels of the game but are going to be a bear to play at the lower levels of the game. For a race I think this may be an issue, I am not sure how you fix it, or even if you should. I am however worried that Casual players will be very put off over the challenge.

    The Good
I really like the new heads, hands and feet created for the race. They all portray that internal beast attempting to escape confines of the body.

Tis a bummer when reuse of a current frame is obvious, but I can see why they do. To change a body framework means they'd have to go through all the gear designs for the new body shape to make things fit/move correctly. Heads, Hands and Feets** are the parts that wouldn't require that extra time/work. (That's my guess, anyway.)

Weapon alignment thing - I'm almost tempted to reup my Llama just to see that.

    **-Sounds like a kiddie song.

The Devs must be mad at us for complaining so much about how ugly the PDKs and Half-Elves are because Shifters are even worse.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

I'd be down for seeing an effect like that on Kalashtar.

Using their psychic mind powers to swing their weapons.

I was looking forward to play a shifter.
I am glad I don't have to spend money as I don't want to play a shifter any longer.
You nerfed my monks, throwers, dailies and alchemists.
I hardly play anymore, found a better hobby.
    Thank You!
