Red face Newbies wanted for blind run of it all. The newbier, the better.

    Hello!

I am looking to form a group of complete newbies to explore the game using no guides.

I have come to a 15 years old game as a newbie, and would love to have a bunch of newbies to run with, so we can explore the game together. Blindly.

The idea would be as follows:
We set up a group, and advance doing most quests (ideally, all of them, but I think raids would require extra people), learning them as we go.

    The guidelines:
    - No wiki
    - No pro players
    - No people who already know the puzzles
    - We go as slow as needed for everyone to read every dialogue
    - If you know the solution to something, you don't help solve it nor offer hints
    ... you get the point.

Ideally, I'd like form a balanced party, or maybe more than one! Or who knows, a blind newbie guild!

If we get a good party, we'll run everything in Reaper 1. If we can't succeed in Reaper 1, we'll go down to elite, then hard, etc. Why reaper 1? Because it's the lowest difficulty that does not allow re-entries, so we have to cover each other

The start date for this would be once the hardcore season is over, or if transfers open up earlier, then (since I'm sure everyone's busy dying in hardcore at the moment).
The play times could could be arranged in the discord group (they can be as fixed or as flexible as we see fit)

If you'd like to be part of this please answer to this topic (so it gets bumped!) and join https://discord.gg/AMqAh8d

You make me wish I was a newbie. Great idea, great initiative!

I can see "no wiki" to avoid previewing maps & walk-thrus, but there is SO much basic info about the game there as well that is pretty important.

Using the Wiki for misc info about the game doesn't sound like a dealbreaker.

And there are some quests that are so non-intuitive that you'd almost have to use the Wiki, or you'd spend hours and hours trying every combo to figure out what the quest wants you to do.

Maybe(?) have a vet player that you can talk to before diving into the deep end - "We're doing the Necro 2 series next, anything we need to know in advance that might prevent completion?"*

    Good luck!

    - For all the Necro series (1-4), you need to turn in the first 4 quests to flag for the final 5th quest in each series. BUT if you accept "Repeat this quest?" from any of the quest givers, that resets that quest and it must be done AGAIN to flag. Yeah, I agree, but it is what it is.)

    Default Crystal Wolves

Crystal Wolves tried that about a year ago. As indicated some of the dungeons are not intuitive. Frankly after about 6 months and some long days we just decided to give up on re-inventing the wheel and use the wiki as needed. We try not to use the wiki, but if push comes to shove we will use the wiki.

As for Crystal Wolves we are a guild for new players. We have no expectations and welcome questions. We can speed run, but we usually play for content and the lore of the game.

    Shadow Crypt, anyone?

IF(!) you can figure out the map, then you can start to figure out the torch puzzles (with no clues). Or you can just stumble around blindly - shouldn't take you (much) more than a few hours. Good luck with that.
