Which build would you consider excellent for farming loot on R1 at cap assuming low/no past lives and few reaper ap?

This really depends on what your favorite way to play is. Melee? Pally. Range dps? 11rog 6 ranger 3 bard dagger thrower, spellcaster? Fire sorc or fire alchemist if you like street fighter combos. Lemme knkw if you want a detailed build
Khyber server: Plague Winds
Tank Gotta Go Fast-Shanayney - over 156 Reaper points
Survivable Healer-Sahanna
I use many first life toons for this, to include.
Monk melee
Warlock aura
Artificier ranged
Ranger melee
Paladin melee
All are effective, and fast, through R2/3 so R1 should be a breeze. All are geared well, and I use multiples of some of these classes, like I have 3 paladins at the moment.
Halfling rogues! They always have the best luck with pulling loot.
Paladin's probably the whole package...THF for AOE DPS, Sac Def for runspeed and defensive bonuses since you'll be lacking PRR and MRR past lives, high saves and immunities, and LoH for a Reaper-reliable self-heal.
I have several characters and I do take them out farming when I need to alter a gear set: high dps melee (swf), high dps ranged (thrower), bard melee/ss, and sorc (blast+hold). All are geared with their pick of raid and other L30 gear.
- DPS melee is by far the quickest @ ~25m solo clear time for slavers p1
- Bard is the most fun in a group (if there's a group doing what I want)
- Ranged is decently fast @ ~35m solo clear for slavers p1 (and MUCH easier p3 finale clear)
- Sorc can painfully solo R1 at cap; I never farm L30 with it, but it's amazing for heroic (25m for a full COGS Saga)
If I invested a crazy amount of time (years?) gearing the Sorc in LGS, I'm pretty sure what it could do in L30 R1s would be similar to what it does in heroics. With more modest farming efforts, I'd go with melee. Some other posts mention paladin and it is indeed very strong right now and a solid contender for versatile farmer. Warlocks do the job, too, and with much less gear. If you want a farmer with minimal gear prep, Warlock can do it. I used to have one, but their DPS is too slow for me.

I’m not sure about exactly this build, but I just ran a second-life (34 pt, no relevant past lives) fire sorc to cap, and with only a t1 and t2 fire crit helm (3 lshroud runs) and no filled-out sentient weapon it trivializes r1 and can solo up to about r4 trash in most quests, and contribute well (generally second in competent party kill counts only to dc casters and significantly more experienced good dps, while having a useful, but not 100% solid mass hold) up to about r7. Boss fights suck above r1 though, and confined spaces are ****.
41 fire savant/3 human/24 ek/12 falc
Flamecleasned set
Sigil of regalport
LGS 30% fire crit damage helm
Sunken slippers w/ quality cha
Shattered onyx w/ insightful cha
Celestial sapphire ring w/ con
Wild flame (ideally with impulse, but nbd either way)/ nightmothers scepter
Should have about 980 fire sp, 65% crit chance, 90 critical damage multiplier, 1k or so outside of reaper. Dcs are mid 90s on meteor swarm, low 80s on hold. Rejuvenation cocoon with flamecleasend set and bracers gives you enough self-healing for in-combat on r1, or out of combat up to about r5.
Lmk if you want more details.
So I have an old ES warlock 20 with high con that can slowly complete r1s, but it's largely obsolete. And then I have arti ranger barb inquisitive. Even without tomes and past lives, can easily solo (or drag a few mules) through r1s. Also valid participant in your PN or DoJ pug runs.
