    Default Revitalize endgame, some suggestions.

So, back in April I finished all lives, repeat ALL lives and a couple of days later I got my reaper wings. My big issue is, what's next? It seems like it's just reaper farming. So I can farm the same quests over and over without the benefit of first-time bonus, or I can re-do lives that I don't need. Seems like I got to the end for nothing. Granted I had lots of fun getting there. I'd like that part to continue.

I think that for all the effort that I put into it (I don't cheat or exploit, not even the Amber Temple thing) I ought to have some sort of benefit from it, aside from all the PL benefits. But I don't want the benefit to make me stronger, I want it to take out some of the grind that I've basically just finished.

I suggest that people who are triple-ALL should be allowed to reincarnate for free every so number of days so that they can change spec. Currently if you're properly specc'd as an R10 tank you really can't solo anything, same for a healer. (I'm generalizing here, I'm sure there are exceptions) A well geared fire Sorc can solo R6's, and other builds mostly lesser levels of reaper. Being able to remain at level 30 and change race/class, etc would provide a greater end game experience.

I recognize that this may keep some players in end game reducing the number of players working the PL grind; however, players would still be able to TR to assist their friends level up should they so choose.

Some of my other quick thoughts include:

    • Play as a monster in randomly selected dungeons (e.g., LOTRO monster play)
    • Play as a special ascended/descended race Angelic/Demonic (Elemental), but can only play Reaper x and above
    • PvP slayer zone, individual, house/faction/patron based

I'd like to hear others' suggestions on end game revitalization.

    I have a very different idea :

    - Play as a gimped First-Lifer with no items in the Shared Bank.
"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

Going to have to see how Feywild messes with endgame before we can figure out what needs to change in the endgame. MotU trashed the Engle game of the time and so did going to 30. Feywild will trash the current endgame too. Hopefully SSG will make a new endgame to replace the one they’re about to break.

    And that is beautiful
    Everybody dies frustrated and sad
    And that is beautiful

I have. Twice. Once on Khyber, and once on Hardcore 1st season.

Heroic Heart of Air: you must be at least level 20, allows you to reincarnate as if you had TRd but you gain nothing from it (no past lives, no extra build points, no increase in the difficulty level you can open), purchasable for 1 token of the 12
Epic Heart of Air: you must be at least level 30, allows you to reincarnate to 20 as if you had epic reincarnated but does not cost any Karma and does not grant any feats. Purchasable for 1 heart seed/100 commendations of valor
Greater Heart of Air: Usable at any level same effect as Heroic Heart of air, Purchasable for 5 tokens of the 12 and 13 heart seeds?, allows you to "escape" form a borked build or just bounce down whenever you like.

All of them purchasable from the DDO store as well, and I don't see any need to limit the use to competionists.

    Roll up an alt.

    There's nothing wrong with end-game.

You've played 10,000 hours and had fun. Don't get mad that the game doesn't offer 20,000 hours of fun for the same character.

Do another 10,000 hours on a new character.

Then you'll have two characters, with two different builds to switch back and forth depending on your mood.

The first character will have plenty to do soon anyway.

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

SSG has bent over backwards to cater to the all-life grinders for a long time now. There's nothing wrong with the OP asking for them to again make most players experiences in the game worse so that there's more for the top-enders to do. That's been the plan for a long time now and it will continue with the Feywild x-pac coming up.
