Unhappy Loading Freezes All the Time!

    Hi.

For the last few months, every play session, my game freezes at a loading screen at least once.
Waiting at the loading screen eventually kicks me out of the game with a message saying "server connection ended"
Pressing Alt + F4, and reconnecting to the game, ends up in the same loading freeze, just after character selection.

The only thing that allows me to bypass the loading screen and finally get into the game, is connecting to a vpn server, which then allows me to keep playing, until the next loading freeze, about 30 minutes later, where I have to disconnect from the vpn server, in order to get back in the game.

I assume it is some kind of a network problem, that loses connection to the server, and there has to be a change of network, in order to solve that.

What do I do, to avoid this happening ever again?

    Thanks.

Try "Preload game client logic" in the options page of the Launcher?

What's your connection speed set to in game? Esc, options, troubleshooting: ?

If it's set too small it might timeout like you are descriping. You can edit the userpreferences.ini file located in your documents folder/ DnD (or something similar) Under ConnectionSpeed: you can edit it, some people use 5000.00 and see an improvement. I don't know if this would work for you. It's very odd that you can get in with a VPN, but then eventually the VPN starts to exhibit the same behaviour. It's almost like your ISP is throttling your connection.

Actually, you might be correct, I had thought about that option, because thinking back I actually think I didn't have this problem before changing ISPs.

What do you suggest I ask them?

"Can I have my money back?" I would just tell them what you've written here, you're having a problem staying connected. Is there a data cap, is there throttling, etc. Or you could skip all the chat and just switch ISP's if you want to experiment and see if it was the problem.

Unless you call tech support and get the issue 'elevated', they likely won't be much help.

Next time it happens, try running speedtest to see if it an issue on your side (PC related) or on your ISP's side. If you get good speed results, it may well be some conflict issue on your PC.

You changed ISPs and it works most of the time when you're connected to a VPN? It's a DNS resolution issue. Stop using your ISPs DNS severs. Switch to Cloudflare.

If you want to try changing your DNS server:

You can always change it back if you see no change.

Update - Just got loading frozen again with cloudflare.
I changed it on the IPv4 properties on my network adapter, did I miss any steps?

    Thanks.
