    Default Monk build suggestions?

Hi. I'm getting close to 20th level on my (1st life) Warlock and would like to do a Monk next. VIP expires in about a month. Any suggestions on a build? This character will most likely remain human (though I also like halfling) and has +5 Int, +3 Con, +3 Cha tomes. I'm willing to grab a couple more tomes with my saved up DDO points if need be.
I've heard about falconry but have not purchased that. The goal is to have a competent, somewhat self healing character that can get to level 20. I like unarmed w/shuriken for occassional ranging. Evasion is important. I don't have any gear but may be able to find something before TR.

One thought is to take a level of rogue for trapping and a level of fighter for the extra feat (so 1/1/18). If that does not make sense, I can stay pure. Lastly, I understand Monks can be button-heavy. I'm OK with some buttons but getting kinda spoiled with the Warlock. WASD+Mouse+5 buttons seems to be my limit for combat situations. I grew up with Atari 2600

Here's the big funny: The character's name is "Warlockdaddy" - that's going to be real fun.

yeah.... ya gotta be careful with character names.... ya just can't name a character Dwarfy McDwarfenstein..... and then play him as a half-orc in his next life.

Here's a better task for the Builders out there - Make a Casting Monk character build. They can cast spells with Ki, right? so.... Do IT... consider it a challenge!

Don't wus out and say it can't be done - put your noodle to the task! They may need a spell from their race.... to augment their casting.... and they'll need a way to regenerate their Ki.... so they can cast more spells!

    OK - NOW, I'm insulted!

But, indeed, where's Strimstrom... or Unbongwa.... to do me a monk caster build???

They would need some scheme to regenerate Ki, a way to max dmg on the limited spells they get... and a race (say.... Drow?) that comes with a spell. There are 2 stances that help generate Ki... one: on Hit, the other: Getting hit. The "getting hit" method might require some thought... as in... using a Vicious weapon that does dmg to you... when you hit... or some Other method? The build would require a Very high Concentration skill.... so that you start with lots of spell-casting goodness. Some determination of Light-side, or Darkside... and, probably, a stick build since you will be spending the bulk of your pts in Henshin Mystic. I don't think a dual class is in order.... since ANY other spell casting class would make people wonder why you didn't just make the character THAT, instead of a Monk.

Look, I accept that it is a challenge of a build to make it viable... but what does a DDO Builder like better than a challenge? Indulge me, plz.

I don’t know what you are trying to do here? A monk using his ki to “cast” their abilities is just called being a monk. They have a random assortment of abilities and finishing moves based on chosen enhancements. This isn’t being a caster, it is being a monk. Easiest way to build ki is by hitting your opponent and having enhanced ki gear or an enhancement that gives more ki per hit.

Huh? A monk that relies on spellpower is a caster monk, as compared to one that uses hand wraps or ki weapons for damage. That’s how you build it at least.

I think Tilo suggested a henshin monk using A 2H Falchion and boosting force. I just can’t seem to remember what it actually entailed although, just the basic build. In a nutshell, the main damage source would come from the henshin force. Sounded very viable.

To get to 20 you can go pure or take 1 rogue or 2 rogue, note this wont work on epics.

My very last built (before falcony came out) was 2 rogue, 4 warlock for ES tree.
Stats in dex, con, wis and int.
Yup I totally ignored cha, not going to give a single stat to it, ES is just for prr, mrr and temp hp.
Both dex and wisdom gives you armor, since you in pajamas your clothes wont give you armor worth mentioning, further more evasion and dodge needs dex to process.
Monk skills need wis to process, Con because you already a glass cannon.
You can ignore int if you skip rogue.
You can get dex to hit and damage in ninja tree, which means you might want to take master race, halfling.

Now the one thing I havent figured out is how to prevent all the rays of enfeeblement, exhaustion from uncentering you. 1 hit and you totally become useless at fighting.

Builts on my to do list, havent figured it out yet.
    Monkcher updated 2022.
    Twin long sword monk. (helf?)
    Undead vampire monk.
    Radient servant glitter monk.
kensai xbow monk? Dont think that will work.
    Great sword monk?
    Shuri monk updated.

Reason why i havent try these is because in epics they all become 1 hit wonders.
