    Default U47 Named Loot

    Update 47 is expected to contain the following new named loot items located in the quest The Promise of Flame as well as new legendary raid loot. During this preview you can easily access all of this loot via "The Loot Guy" NPC located in the center of the Test Dojo.

    Full disclosure, I'm going to be lying low for a few days for unrelated reasons, and therefore won't have as much time as I'd hoped to catch the fire of the first blush feedback as it happens. That being said, here's what I'll be tinkering with over the next few weeks, in no particular order:

    • Make the Legendary Alchemical Weapons more attractive compared to other raid weapons of the same tier. I know deep down inside no one's looking for yet another crafting system, so I'll be doing everything in my power to make this happen without one. The Heroic Alchemical crafting system will be losing a huge chunk of its costs with this update and I'm not going to reverse-course on my goal to remove as much grind from DDO as I can just yet.
    • Take a deep dive into the items whose designs were dictated by their heroic counterparts (so the House C stuff in LOB/MA, and roughly half of the loot in VOD). I kept really close to the original, heroic designs, and it looks like that wasn't the best plan. It seems like players from 10 years ago valued different things than they do now - who knew? I have a few evil ideas to make them a lot cooler and I hope you'll check back in preview 2 to take a look.
    • Make the set bonuses a lot more attractive - or at the very least, a lot more unique.
    • Build a falchion out to drop somewhere in one of the raids (no promises)
    • Actually get around to fixing the on-punch stuff that's been clogging up my to-do list for about 2 years now
    • Fix those proc rates! Ahhh! 100% is the worst %!
    • Switch that longbow over to Acid.


    As more suggestions pour in, I'll add more to my list, so don't worry that you're too late to add your two cents.

    As a friendly reminder, there's a real human behind this cheerful Black Abbot picture - if you'd like your ideas to be heard, making them constructive and actionable is your best bet. "Rargh this is garbage and isn't worth improving" won't get anywhere - it doesn't help me help you at all. Every loot list ever made has started out from somewhere, and there's plenty of time to make deep and involved changes to basically everything in this list. The entire point of a preview like this is to make changes, and changes are definitely coming, so please add your thoughts and I'll see what I can do. Thanks <3

    Can we get that changed to something useful?

    Maybe Enhanced Devotion, A temp HP guard or a heal guard or something? Right now it's semi-useful for clerics and none of the other healers.

    Re: Tharne's True Goggles, if you had two slots, even two clear slots, someone could take these, add +15 spot/search augments and end up with +26 spot and search which makes them a about a 20% improvement over other available single-item spot/search solutions. Would have been something, now it's not quite so attractive when there's already a very similar item like Epic Treasure Hunter's Spyglass. Guess I'm nostalgic for Tharne's, I still wear mine at level, it was one of the must have items... a real pleasure to pull it.

    Another angle - who would give up their +21/+10 goggles for this? I think it has to be very compelling improvement in the spirit of Tharne's Goggles. Do something to make the spot/search stand out better is what I'm saying.

    What's with all the guard procs, I thought you guys were getting away from guard effects?

    The 2 best things about the House Cannith raids were: 1) there was a weapon for EVERYONE; and 2) the weapons were 100% customizable.

    You've managed to get rid of both of these features. I already knew that there would be no customization, and had made peace with that fact. But I was not expecting that there wouldn't be an option for every weapon type. I can't express how disappointed I am. I was finally looking forward to a decent melee Light Mace option, but I guess I'll go back to farming Killing Time for the caster light mace for my melee build.


    While, I understand what you were trying to do with the rest of the loot (updated version of the old loot), the Fastidious Fabricator needs some serious love. No melee is giving up their part of family set for +3 damage. If you really wanted to make it useful you'd put it on gear slots that don't interfere with Legendary Part of the Family. I know how much you guys love making melee gloves that conflict with the actual melee set though.
