    Default Repecing my FvS

Hello all! I just started playing again after a long hiatus (7 years!) And I see much has changed. I also see that I was really bad at building characters.

My question is this: Should I use one of the hearts I have to respec or just bash my head against the wall and get to level 20 to do one of the better reincarnations? Currently my FvS is at lvl 10 (haven't taken it yet though) and has little solo ability it seems. When I made the character originally I was focused on healing mainly. But now that I really don't have anyone to play with I was thinking about maybe trying to find a good solo build.

Character is an Elf if that matters.

    Welcome back!

Caster FvS has gotten a lot better at soloing, thanks to the Angel of Vengeance revamp. You can Sun Bolt your way through to level 15, at which point you can pull out necro spells and have an ungodly number of spell points for metamagics.

I think it depends most your feats and stats, since AP are easy to swap and skills are pretty much irrelevant for FvS. But ultimately, it's what you enjoy. Try doing a basic respec (swap a feat or two, redo enhancements, hit the auction for a couple of pieces of Wis / Cha / Spellpower gear), take the character into a quest and see if it's fun

Caster FvS is great in heroics; Sun Bolt SLA is ridiculously strong. Combine with Beacon of Hope for heals & buffs; Close Wounds SLA can be spammed every second and Beacon of Grace both heals friends and damages undead foes.

Elf opens the option of an AA / Warsoul but honestly that's just making life harder on yourself IMO. I'd play a melee Warsoul using scimitars before I did that.

Yea I will probably just basic respec because this character is kinda **** haha. Like I said, I had no idea what I was doing back then.

Yea Sun Bolt sounds cool, I'll have to pick that up. Do you have any suggestions for a build? I'm gonna do the basic respec to repick all her stuff and I would like something that I can solo with and maybe still be good in groups

Like I said I wasn't good at making builds when I made her, but I've gotten better at theory crafting since then. I could probably make a build and have it be decent now but I figure I look at builds to get a general idea on what I should be doing.

If you're interested here is my chars stats and feats currently,
    Str: Base 11, +3 tome (14)
    Dex: Base 17, +2 tome (19)
    Con: Base 12, +2 tome (14)
    Int: Base 8, +2 tome (10)
    Wis: Base 14, +2 tome (16)
    Cha: Base 15, +2 tome (17)

TWF, Follower of the undying court, energy absorb fire, weapon finesse, emp healing, heavy army prof.

I'm certain I need to respec looking at those feats hah.

-Edit- I looked through this fourm and found a couple of builds I liked the look of, Hopefully this respeced FvS is fun! Wish me luck!

If you've been gone for several years, you should have at least one free Heart of Wood in your inventory. So you just need to decide if you want a caster (AoV) or melee (Warsoul) build.

Caster is easy. This is just a quick conversion of a human build I made.

Melee Warsoul involves more tradeoffs and TBH is more of a niche/flavor build (read as: suboptimal hybrid). You can either stick with Undying Court (scimitars) or switch to Sovereign Host (longswords) or Onatar (warhammers). Knight's Training feat would give the latter more DPS, but it costs an extra feat on a build which is already pretty short on them. Right now I think the least bad melee Warsoul option is wood elf using falchions + Faith of the Forest; though it's obviously weaker melee DPS than a 2H paladin is these days.

Sweet, that actually looks pretty close to what I've done to her so far except I went with charisma because I'm also gonna use her to sell my items. I still have a +20 heart and a regular heart sitting on that character as well so I can always respec again if necessary.

Also, she has a raiders reward box in her inventory, what should I get from it?

You definitely do not need to waste a reincarnation heart. Resetting your enhancements and going a different route will be quite sufficient. Then once you get Blade Barrier, it's all over. You can skate your way to 20 without even trying. Blade Barrier is not super great in epics - the damage doesn't scale as well as it should - but for heroic it is throwing stuff into a wood chipper.

All of the CitW weapons are considered obsolete now, but hey - free is free. Can't beat the price.

For a caster the only option is Twilight, which I always thought of as a wizard staff and is probably worse than what's available elsewhere. So I'd probably save the box for a future melee life: e.g., Breach if you decide to do a wood elf paladin or Warsoul someday.

The raider's box is still good for the commendations of heroism, even if you don't want the weapons.
