Return to DDO

Haven't been playing for quite a long time, is there any point is returning to game if i will have to start anew? Is any of the servers more populated than others? Are some adventures worth buying (i believe i have all necropolis ones)? Sorry for so many questions but i must know if returning is an option now

Now is a great time to come back because if you use the coupon code "ddofreequests" (might not have the S on the end) in the in game store then you unlock all the quest packs currently available apart from expansions. With that said though 2 expansions are on sale in the store for 99 points each which are Menace of the Underdark (does not include Epic Destinies) and The Shadowfell Conspiracy. These are available until the end of August (31st I think).

Depending on where your current characters are you can always take them to level 20 and TR to start "fresh" but gain the benefit of a past life so it's not a total waste

I believe Thelanis is the default server at the moment so that's probably the best for starting out on but if you have characters on another server then feel free to go back to those. If you are on Cannith I can possibly help you out since that is the server I play on.

If you're on the fence, there probably hasn't been a better time to return to the game than now. All content is currently free through the end of August, and there's a coupon code (redeem the coupon code "DDOFREEQUESTS" in the DDO Store) that unlocks all non-expansion content on your account permanently. There's also a huge sale on the Menace of the Underdark and The Shadowfell Conspiracy expansions (99 DDO Points each). You should really consider logging in and and using the coupon even if you aren't sure you're ready to come back quite yet. You can check out this page for more information.

If you're a returning player and you didn't have a permanent home that you're looking to return to, you may want to check out Thelanis - it's currently the default and will have the largest population of new and returning players. You might also be interested in Cannith which has been a very stable contender for high population. If you want more information on population info you can check out DDO Audit (the link in my signature) which provides detailed population trends and a live LFM panel so you can get a feel for which servers are running what content.
