Chest Ransack Bug?

I've noticed some funky things goin on with chest ransack.

This week I started farming for some lvl 10 Ravenloft gear. I haven't done any Ravenloft quests for a while, and certainly not ransacked any RL chests for months.

First toon I ran through Death House to the end chest got the ransack message on the first opening of the chest.

The next 3 toons I logged on got no ransack message from the chest, and went on to do their 8 runs, ransacking on the last run.

The last toon I logged on again got no ransack message, but only managed 3 runs before the ransack message popped up on the 4th run. I recalled and ran it again to make sure it wasn't just a display error, and got the ransack message again.

Anyone else noticed anything screwy going on?

Yes, chest ransacked timers are DEFINITELY BUGGED.

I was away from the game for a couple of weeks, came back last week to farm a chest I had ransacked before leaving and I got the ransack message. Thought to myself "hm maybe I miscounted the days", but I tried again 1 week later (almost 3 weeks after the initial chest opening) and I still get the ransack message along with no named (so not just a display bug).

Hopefully this thread gets the devs' attention

Having a similar problem. 22 quests on reaper, but not a single named item since the update. Quests were in Sharn and Amarth with a Greater Treasure Hunter’s elixir active. Was thinking either really poor luck (that’s usual for me), or too small a sample size to make any conclusion that it’s a bug.

I recently reached epic, and have been doing Good Intentions every day for XP, *not* named loot which I got enough of a long time ago. Ever since the update, I've had the ransack message on the end chest. I never do this quest more than once a day. Since I'm not running the quest for loot, it's not that big of a deal, but it *is* weird.

I used to see spurious chest ransacks if I had a loot gem running.

Today's Hotfix was postponed due to a problem that arose last night. Hopefully they will have time to squeeze in a fix for this issue.

Also having this issue. I can ransack any new chest and it seems to un-ransack alright after a week. But any chest I ransacked pre-u46 is now perma-ransacked. Even chests I ransacked months ago, but didn't open again until after u46, are now perma-ransacked.

Pretty sure this is happening to me as well, but it's the Heart of the Problem chest. It's not resetting ransack. There could be more. Disappointing.

It would be great if one of the devs could see this and weigh in on the issue as it is quite annoying. I ransacked the Offshore Account trying to get my Gossamer Weave and now with perma-ransack I have no way to complete my set

The devs enjoy threads titled: "Hey Devs:" Maybe make one and see?

Or, wait for them to stumble their way out of the Zork dungeon of cluster**** they created for themselves with this last update. Pretty sure the thief's gonna get them tho.

You guys found the detail of this far better than I did.

I have a number of alts I run certain chests with and I noticed there was wild inconsistency in who was getting ransack when. I didn't know why.

Sounds like from these posts maybe U46 "locked in" whatever ransack state you were in before the update. That would explain the weirdness.

I've been looking for evidence of this from other people too! I normally ransack shorter quests for gem noms and I did it last about 2 weeks ago yet I'm still ransacked! What's even more bizarre is that I dual box it yet one toon was ransacked and the other wasn't even though I always do them both at the same time!

Also, a friend today said he'd done no more than one WPM per day, if that, but somehow ended up ransacked too

Same, the quests I am seeing ransack oddness on are quests that run as a dual box and the same two toons looting the same chests at the same time and yet they are in completely different ransack states.

SSG when you're fixing this, just nuke ransack from orbit. It's a bad mechanic of this game.
