Default Questing at Level 23 And Taking Level 24

All I did at this level was run 1 quest which gave me enough xp to take 24 since I was already capped. I went ahead and leveled up for the feat and the stat bump.

Quests Ran: The Hobgoblin Horde - Epic Elite

    Notable items earned
Enchanted Horseshoe - Upgraded my Horse from 80% speed bonus to 100% speed bonus

    Video support (playlist): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...xrgp9-9GRXDLTK

    Leveling Up to 24

    Level Up Stat: Strength
Feats: Force of Personality (Improves Will Saves)

    No changes to enhancements

    Plan for Upcoming Level
    - Finish Keep on the Borderlands EE and get a new level 21 gear set
    - Run most level 20 quests on EH for bravery bonus to fill destinies. EE will be saved for later since I will likely be rerunning most quests that drop tokens of the twelve (mainly due to the wacky hit point scaling of low level epics that drop tokens)

    Notable For New Level
    - I switched destines to grandmaster of flowers which temporarily weakens me a little, but it should be fine.

    Reaper Update
    Total reaper xp: 51,871

Always keep in mind that this plan is customizable. If you find reaper too difficult drop back to elite @ 4 levels over for heroic leveling. If you find elite @ 4 levels over too difficult drop back to 6 levels over for elite. You will get significant reaper experience at level 30 running R4 with a group so there is no need to worry about reaper progress if you find it too difficult. Another option is try a few easier quests on reaper each level and run the rest on elite.

    DDO Point Update
    100-favor run on 7 servers: 875
    600-favor on Hardcore: 300

    Warforged Purchase: -248

Default Questing @ Level 25 and Taking Level 26

The focus for this level was running Level 21 quests, filling my destinies for the first time and earning Tokens of the Twelve. I am now up to 22 Tokens of the Twelve and some fragments which gives me enough to TR at 30, but it will be nice to accumulate even more so I can have some banked for future lifes where I either skip epics or want to reach 30 faster.

I was able to get a taste of the damage improvements I will see once I am able to stay in a capped good destiny. Legendary Dreadnought is very back-loaded, but my damage more than doubled once I got master's blitz and the increased 1[W] with an action boost active. That was very short-lived as I was only able to run a few quests with master's blitz before the destiny was capped and I had to move to Shiradi which is arguably the absolute weakest destiny to level up for a melee. This level I'll get 3 tiers of shiradi champion and switch to primal avatar where I will get 3 ranks of the first tier to take rejuvenation cocoon and then switch to fury of the wild which I will stay in until capped so I can take perfect two-handed fighting at level 28.

I am fairly certain I will hold 28 until I cap 3 martial destinies so I can have dire charge for my level 30 epics. I want to use epic sagas for skill tomes, but I will use my heroic saga xp plus any epic saga xp rewards where good skill tomes aren't an option. After this life I will use saga xp exclusively to fill the remaining destinies so I can be in a good destiny and run on reaper mode.

The handicap for a first-lifer is arguably worse at epic levels due to the need to fill destinies and run mostly at a weaker state, but it's ok as you always have the option of adjusting difficulty down as much as needed.

    Quests Ran:

    House Kundarak
The Last Stand - Epic Elite
The Claw of Vulkoor - Epic Elite
Fathom the Depths - Epic Elite
Into the Deep - Epic Elite
    Tharashk Arena - Epic Elite
    The Prisoner - Epic Elite

    Harbor and Marketplace
The Lords of Dust - Epic Elite
Servants of the Overlord - Epic Elite
The Spinner of Shadows - Epic Elite
Beyond the Rift - Epic Elite
    Devil Assault - Epic Elite
    The Chronoscope - R1

    House Phiarlan
    A Small Problem Epic Elite
    Partycrashers - Epic Elite
    The Snitch Epic Elite
Under The Big Top - Epic Elite

    House Deneith
Spies in the House - Epic Elite

    Sands
An Offering of Blood - Epic Elite

    Eveningstar
    Impossible Demands - Epic Elite
The Unquiet Graves - Epic Elite
The Lost Thread - Epic Elite
The Battle For Eveningstar - Epic Elite

    The Twelve
Another Man's Treasure - Epic Elite
Kind of a Big Deal - Epic Elite

From a questing perspective chaos hammer is one of the most difficult spells to deal with since I am lawful, fortunately now that I took force of personality my will save is higher and I shouldn't fail the save very often.

    Notable items earned
Seal of Twisted Talisman - this is one of the few heroic items I want to upgrade to epic with the scroll, seal and shard system and probably the easiest

    Video support (playlist): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...Mr_THNo9PV31zP

    Leveling Up to 26

    Level Up Stat: NA
    Feats: Pierce Adamantine

    No changes to enhancements

    Plan for Upcoming Level
    - Run Level 22 quests to fill destinies and earn tokens of the twelve

    Notable For New Level
    - I switched destines to shiradi champion so will be slightly weaker at this level until I reach and make some progress in fury of the wild. That's ok, it's necessary to accept this on a first-life character so you can build up your power for future lifes. You can always drop difficulty down as much as needed while filling or running in off-destinies.

    Reaper Update
Total reaper xp: 52,404 (I earned 533 reaper xp from Epic Chronoscope this level)

Always keep in mind that this plan is customizable. If you find reaper too difficult drop back to elite @ 4 levels over for heroic leveling. If you find elite @ 4 levels over too difficult drop back to 6 levels over for elite. Default Questing @ Level 27 and Taking 28

The focus for this level was running Level 23 quests, filling my destinies for the first time and capping Fury of the Wild so I met the prerequisite for Perfect Two-Handed Fighting before taking level 28. I spent most of the level in Fury of the Wild but switched over to Shadowdancer towards the end once I capped Fury of the Wile.

    Quests Ran:

    Catacombs
The Friar's Niece - Epic Elite
Return To The Sanctuary - Epic Elite
The Old Archives - Epic Elite
The Crypt of Gerard Dryden - Epic Elite
Setting the Wards: The Lower Cathedral - Epic Elite
Setting the Wards: The Patriarch's Crypt - Epic Elite
    Endgame: Marguerite - Epic Elite

    The Twelve
    Memory Lapse - Epic Elite

    Eveningstar
    Outbreak - Epic Elite
    Overgrowth - Epic Elite
Thorn and Paw - Epic Elite
The Druid's Curse - Epic Elite
    Thunderforged Raid Flagging
    Detour - Reaper 1 Skull
Rest Stop - Reaper 1 Skull
A Stay At The Inn - Reaper 1 Skull
Lost in the Swamp - Reaper 1 Skull
End of the Road - Reaper 1 Skull

    Three-Barrel Cove
The Legend of Two-Toed Tobias - Reaper 1 Skull + Epic Elite
Old Grey Gar - Epic Elite
Prove Your Worth - Epic Elite
Ghost of a Chance - Epic Elite
    Precious Cargo - Epic Elite

    Notable items earned
Treads of Falling Shadow (Epic Elite Version): Striding 30%, Ghostly, Dexterity +8, Insightful Dexterity +3, Mythic Boost +1
Bracers of Twisting Shade (Epic Elite Version): Blurry, Disable Device 20, Search 20, Exceptional Seeker 5, Resistance 7, Mythic Bonus +1

    Level Up Stat: Strength
    Feats: Perfect Two-Handed Fighting

    No changes to enhancements

    Plan for Upcoming Level
    - Run Wheelon and Stormhorns to Complete Sagas
    - Start Working on Level 30 Gear Set

    Notable For New Level
    - Since SSG was kind enough to provide us all with a free 50% sovereign XP Elixir, once I am able to cap my 3 martial destinies with saga xp (including elixir) I will consume the elixir, take all the saga xp and then start running my level 30 reaper quests with 6 hours left on the elixir. Since taking sagas doesn't take any time off the xp elixir clock I am effectively able to double-dip and use the elixir for both sagas and level 30 reaper questing. I will also turn in my small and medium eberron shards for elixirs once the sovereign potion runs out.

    Reaper Update
    Total reaper xp: 57,133

Always keep in mind that this plan is customizable. If you find reaper too difficult drop back to elite @ 4 levels over for heroic leveling. If you find elite @ 4 levels over too difficult drop back to 6 levels over for elite. I plan to start and record a crafting session soon where I will use my essences, success boosters from the crafting tutorial/house cannith favor and a Crafting XP potion from the crafting tutorial to significantly raise my crafting level. I will do this shortly before I Tr or whenever there is a crafting xp bonus days - whichever comes first. Here is some good information on cannith crafting: https://ddowiki.com/page/Cannith_Crafting

Default Questing @ Level 28 and Taking Levels 29 and 30

The focus for this level was completing the eveningstar sagas, filling my destinies for the first time and capping three martial destinies to meet the prerequisite for Dire charge before taking level 29 and then 30. I spent this level in shadowdancer and grandmaster of flowers and earned over 1 million xp to fill destinies with most of my heroic and epic sagas.

    Quests Ran:

    Eveningstar
Friends in Low Places - Reaper 1 Skull
A Lesson in Deception - Reaper 1 Skull
Army of Shadow - Reaper 1 Skull
Thrill of the Hunt - Reaper 1 Skull
Through a Mirror Darkly - Reaper 1 Skull
    The Tracker's Trap - Reaper 1 Skull
Lines of Supply - Reaper 1 Skull
Breaking the Ranks - Reaper 1 Skull
A Break in the Ice - Reaper 1 Skull
What Goes Up - Reaper 1 Skull

    Harbor
Lords of Dust - Epic Hard (I needed a little more destiny xp after using my saga xp so I ran this for first-time EH bonus)

    Notable items earned
Spot +3 tome from one of the eveningstar sagas
10x Legendary Statuette of the Gods - very rare item that lets me upgrade craftable slave lord items with a mythic bonus. It drops in stacks of 10 on elite.

    Video support (playlist): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...EI6tyLE7Fhy6lL

    Leveling Up to 29

    Level Up Stat: None
    Feats: Dire Charge

    Leveling Up to 30

    Level Up Stat: None
Feats: Blinding Speed, Scion of the Ethereal Plane

Note on level 30 feats: These aren't necessarily ideal feats for the build. I took these feats as a first-life build primarily to help with gear tetris and some of the weaknesses I've experienced - specifically trapping skills and defenses. Blinding speed gives me 32% movement speed and 15% attack speed and eliminates the need to find a gear with this ability. Scion of the Ethereal Plane gives me lesser displacement (25% concealment bonus to miss chance), +4 to all my skills, +6d6 sneak damage which should proc whenever an enemy is helpless (due to dire charge in some cases) and invisibility guard. Since I didn't get all the skill tomes I was hoping for and my trapping skills are borderline this seemed like the right feats for this life. There is a very short quest called "Hall of the Mark" which provides a free feat swap once per life if I end up getting gear that negates the need for one of these.

    No changes to enhancements

    Plan for Upcoming Level
    - Complete a level 30 gear set even if it's not perfect
    - Run level 30 reaper quests
    - Run raids with the open easily distracted gaming community on Sarlona

    Notable For New Level
    - Since SSG was kind enough to provide us all with a free 50% sovereign XP Elixir I will use this once I complete gear and start running reaper quest. I originally was hoping to double up on this potion by taking saga xp and then running reapers, but I still need to spend significant time finding gear.

    Reaper Update
    Total reaper xp: 63,120

Always keep in mind that this plan is customizable. If you find reaper too difficult drop back to elite @ 4 levels over for heroic leveling. If you find elite @ 4 levels over too difficult drop back to 6 levels over for elite. You will get significant reaper experience at level 30 running R4 with a group so there is no need to worry about reaper progress if you find it too difficult. Another option is try a few easier quests on reaper each level and run the rest on elite.

    DDO Point Update
    100-favor run on 7 servers: 875
    600-favor on Hardcore: 300
    5400-favor on main server: 2,000
Menace of the Underdark Expansion Purchase: -99
    The Shadowfell Conspiracy Purchase: -99
    Shared Bank Purchase: -1121
    Epic Destinies Purchase: -995
    Warforged Purchase: -248
    Grand Total: 613

Favor Earned This Level: 51 (5473 total)
DDO Points Earned This Level: 0

    Crafting Update
Current Crafting Level: 100 (from character sheet)
Total Crafting XP: 7,353 (from character sheet)
Items Deconstructed: 1,476 (from character sheet)
    Total Cannith Essences: 29,353

Note: All Crafting XP and Levels are from the tutorial and breaking down items for essences. I plan to start and record a crafting session soon where I will use my essences, success boosters from the crafting tutorial/house cannith favor and a Crafting XP potion from the crafting tutorial. If I happen to do this while a crafting xp bonus weekend is in place that would be ideal to stretch my essences further, but I will do this before tr'ing even if there isn't a bonus weekend.

Default Different Paths After Taking 30

Once you hit 30 you have 2 choices. You can either immediately TR and start working on your favor (ddo points) and next life. Alternatively you can stay at cap and get some gear and run reaper quests for quick reaper xp.

Whether you are a solo player, run solely with 1 or more friends or regularly group with people you should find plenty of opportunities to find groups to run reaper quests and raids at level 30. The BIGGEST challenge of staying at 30 is that you are going to be much weaker compared to other players - most of which have tomes, past lifes and good gear already. These differences are more pronounced at level 30 than earlier levels. The main thing you can do to improve is find gear, but drops below Epic Elite are abysmal and without the gear running level 30 quests on EE is very challenging.

So you either need to find a group of friends to run with to farm gear, join groups from the lfm panel or solo quests on Epic Hard to find gear, but with a lower drop-rate. Be up front with groups that this is a first-life character and generally the community is super helpful and can empathize with the challenges of building up a first-life character. It's very likely people will even pass gear to help you if they don't need it.

So a few thoughts on quests to run to get gear for this build. Ideally getting the light armor, gloves and necklace listed below for a set bonus, but it's hard to get every item you want so you might have to compromise. You can check DDO wiki for more details on the items

Security Detail (COGS quest which means fewer named items and a more likely chance for it to drop)
Legendary Wildcard (light armor): +15, Fortification 214, Phsyical Sheltering 54, Healing Amp 85, Hit Points 81
Legendary Bronze Dragonscale Belt: Constitution 21, Healing Amp 85, Insightful False Life 40, Lifesealed 50

Blown Deadline (so many items that could fit into a gear set)
Legendary Hallowed Castigators: Devotion 214, Healing Lore 31, Insightful Sheltering 27 (Physical and Magical), Efficient metamagic empower healing II
Legendary Hammerfirst (gloves): Insightful Doublestrike 11, Cannith Crafting Infusion, Seeker 21, Insightful Deadly 8 (doesn't stack with divine might)
Legendary Collective Sight (Goggles): Ability bonus 21 (craftable), Insightful Ability 10 (craftable), Quality Resistance, Temperance of Belief (MRR bonus based on religious feats)
Legendary Celestial Sapphire Ring: Intelligence 21 (craftable), Improved Deception (helps with sneak damage), Dodge 21%, Profane Well Rounded 2 (+2 to all stats stacking)

House of Pain (really just the necklace for set bonus
Legendary Family Recruit Sigil (necklace): True Seeing, Armor Piercing 33%, Competence Deadly 17, Relentless Fury

    A Sharn Welcome
Legendary Cloak of the City's Champion: Extra Smites, Parrying 10, Insightful Constitution 10, Quality Physical Sheltering 54

    The Same Old Song

Legendary Celestial Ruby Ring: Strength 21 (craftable), Stunning 23, Accuracy 33, Ghostly

    Death House
Legendary Keylock Ring: Disable Device 22, Open Lock 22, Search 22, Spot 22

    Wrath of Earth

Legendary Softsole Slippers: Ghostly, Insightful Charisma 9

    Slave Lords Crafting/Chain
Custom Crafted items to complete gear (helps with gear tetris) - you can run these on EH to make 1 or 2 items
Legendary Executioner's Helm: Insightful Deception 7, Relentless Fury, Seeker 17, Quality Combat Mastery 4 (stacks) - from Secret of the Slaver's Stockade

    White Plume Mountain

Legendary Echo of Blackrazor (great sword): 7[2d6+4] base damage, keen (not helpful but it's part of reason base damage is higher), entropic 9, psychic ward *** Very low chance for it to drop- I would recommend instead ransacking on herioc to try and get the heroic version for next life). The free morninglord greatsword is solid for running level 30 quests.

Gear farming can take time and requires some patience/persistence. No one piece of gear is critical so don't get discouraged if you don't get an item you are looking for. The key is to make the best of what you get. Also if an item looks somewhat useful but isn't what you were trying to get - keep it until you have your final gear figured out. Other gear from these quests could fit into your gear as back-ups in case you don't get what you are looking for - and you will never get everything you are looking for on your first life.

Default Level 30 Gear For This Life

Unfortunately I didn't get all the items I wanted, but I am happy with the gear I have for running Reaper 4. Overall I am a little short of PRR and hit points for running R4s, but it's workable. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get the Legendary Part of the Family set bonus. Since I took 3x stabilizing and 1 caustic compound for my 4 heroic sharn sagas I was able to craft on my legendary sharn items which utilize the same mats. I took 2 mats for the hard run and banked the 2 heroic sagas until I knew what I needed for my legendary gear.

Here is what I ended up with:

Goggles: Legendary Colllective Sight: Strength 21 (crafted), Insightful Strength 10 (crafted), Quality Resistance 4, +18 quality MRR (1 per religious lore feat)
Helm: Legendary Executioner's Helm: Seeker 17, Deception 7, Quality Combat Mastery 4, Relentless Fury
Necklace: Slavelord crafted: Sheltering 45, Deadly 14, UMD 7, Quality Charisma 4
Trinket: Slavelord crafted: Charisma 17, Accuracy 28, Heal 22, Quality Constitution 4
Cloak: Legendary Cloak of the City's Champion: Extra Smites, Insightful Constitution 10, Parrying 10, Quality Physical Sheltering 13
Belt: Legendary Bronze Dragonscale Belt: Constitution 21, Competence Healing Amp 85, Insightful False Life 40, Life Sealed 50% (incudes deathblock)
Ring 1: Legendary Celestial Sapphire Ring: Intelligence 21 (crafted), Improved Deception, Dodge 21%, Profane Well Rounded (+2 profane bonus to all stats)
Gloves: Legendary Sunstone Gauntlets: Devotion 214, Healing Lore 31, Wizardry 440, Insightful Physical Sheltering 26
Boots: Legendary Softsole Slippers: Ghostly, Insighful Charisma 9
Ring 2: Legendary Keylock Ring: Disable Device 22, Search 22, Spot 22, Open Lock 22
Bracers: Quality Strength 5 (Crafted), Insightful Seeker 10, Shatter 23, Stunning 23, Mythic +3 bonus
Armor: Legendary Wildcard: Physical Sheltering 54, Fortification 214, False Life 81, Competence Healing Amp

So overall not exactly what I was looking for but workable for a Reaper 4 skull run. Notably missing is armor piercing, true seeing and insightful trapping skills. I do have a swap pair of gloves with insightful disable device +9. I do not have a speed item or lesser displacement, but have those with my blinding speed and scion of the ethereal plane feats. Scion of the Ethereal Plane also gives me +4 to all my skills.

Since I don't have True-seeing, but now have a solid UMD (Use Magic Device) I am scrolling True Seeing as part of my self-buffing which lasts for 11 minutes. I also now scroll shield instead of using clickies since my gloves have a wizardry item. However, I do want to find a longer-lasting shield clicky before I TR.

I am running with a first-life assassin and an accomplished player running an alchemist life, but with sub-part level 30 gear. We don't have crowd control which we normally have for our reaper runs so some quests will be more difficult. I feel confident I can make a significant contribution to the group. The fastest way to improve my character is by earning reaper points which is comparatively faster and more impactful than most past lifes. So even though I am a little under-powered this life it's a great step to take to build character power.

So far I ran 12 level 30+ quests on R4 (full Ravenloft chain). I died 4 times total jn 12 quests and my Dire Charge and Holy Retribution were both impactful even in level 30 quests on R4. This is a little better than my expectations, but I wouldn't want to run above R4 until I gain some more power. I will most likely use this gear set gain next life rather than re-farming for gear.

Awesome. I still have a ways to catch up. My Ranger/Rogue is at level 10 right now. Haven't had as much time to play as I would like so progress has been slow. Anyway, right now I'm grinding favor on my alt account so I can get the shadowfell conspiracy for 99points before it expires on Aug31.

Sounds great. The absolute quickest way to do this is run for 5 favor on 4 servers (3 korthos quests on normal) for 200 points which is enough for both expansions. Ideally make hardcore one of those servers since access is only available for a short time and resets each season if FTP have access in the future. You get 50 DDO points for reaching 5 favor for the first time on each server.

You can lead the person you protect around the back side of the building (turn left once you leave it) and park her there. She is safe from attacks and you don't have to worry about her.

Agreed and that is what I did for favor clean-up. My primary concern was the high # of reapers and champions that spawn with all the mobs - the protect part isn't so bad if we bring her to the back and use social skills to keep her there, but I think it's a good quest for a first-life character to skip on reaper.

So I was having some fun with the ranger tempest, but found that R1 was a bit too hard even being four levels above the base quest level. Seeing as you have taken this build to level 30, I'm going to follow your build to the letter. My VIP has expired now, so I'm going to be following the quest order you suggest exactly as well. However, I have gear farmed from my previous characters that will make the start a little easier (tokens for horse, Book of Spirits, Red Fens Gear.) Since I have access to 32 point builds I followed the stat distribution for the character you laid out in your lesser reincarnation video and put the extra four points into wisdom. Also, since I unlocked the ability to start off at level 4 I'm taking advantage of that as well.

I don't have the Sharn Expansion yet, but I'm going to pick it up when Black Friday comes around.

I just have one question, what do I do for light armor? I've run the Three Barrel Cove for the Kobald Admiral Armor twice now, but never got it to drop before ransack kicks in. Should I browse the auction house and purchase what I can find there? Do I turn end rewards based on class off and hope light armor drops randomly?

The main thing I like about the Kobold Admiral's uniform is the 6 damage reduction from piercing and slashing - it really helps at lower levels. If the armor didn't drop for me I would have used the following:

    - Spearbane bracers which gives you 4 damage reduction from piercing. Then at 7 switch to ring of the mire which gives you 6 damage reduction from piercing.
    - Furor's Hide cloak (from garrison's missing pack) which gives you 4 damage reduction from slashing.

both of these are easy to get - Furor's hide you can even get for plat from the auction house - the drop rate on it is much higher than the Kobold's Admiral uniform. Also I have an extra cloak on Sarlona if you need it.

Then you can use random armor that gives other useful abilities.

Since you are on Sarlona let me know when you get to 30 - you are welcome to join us for a reaper run if you don't already have a group to run with.

On a side note once you get to 250 cannith crafting levels you can craft a minimum level 1 armor with invulnerability on it that gives you 5 damage reduction from all physical damage - better than the kobold armor, but that will take a few lifes.

Thank you so much. It will honestly probably take me a while to get to 30 since I am not the fastest player, but I will let you know how I am progressing. Right now I am trying to farm Protective Gloves but have only had one drop so far. Keep getting Runic gloves or Arcane gloves. Once I hit ransack I will have to go back to it later on to farm some more.

The good news on that chest is there is no ransack. Also, if you don't rescue the person you can recall and reset the quest without going back to Korthos village. It's never fun farming for items, but this is a useful one for sure.

I had the same issue on hardcore - it wouldn't drop for me.

Awesome, did not know that. I got four protective gloves after running maaany times. I'm going to try for the Kobald Admiral Uniform on this character , even though it didn't show up on my other two characters. One final try.

What level do you make an effort to keep wisdom up for spells? I am level 6 and bought a cloak of wisdom to use cure wounds spell to use with empower spell. I don't have near your health or spell points somehow. I haven't had any major walls yet though.

This build kinda reminds me of a pathfinder class called inquisitor.
