    Default Vip

Bought 1 month vip and DDO points a month ago and it was pretty good experience, thou my vip just ended and now I can't use any of my toons. My main is now on his 5-6th life and he's currently a gnome alchemist lvl 4 nearly 5, the rest of them vary in lvl, thou I don't use them much since they were bank toons/test builds. Thou back to main problem, so in order to use my main again I'll have to buy vip huh, tbh I didn't think that when vip expired I'd be locked out of using my characters- thou idk what I should've expected, that being said it's a bit ironic seeing what it's come to. out of all my toons I can only use 1 and that's a lvl 10 paladin human, which is yet another bank toon. Given that the only way around this is to either buy vip again (I should of just bought 3 months and no DDO points, thou at the end of that 3 months I may have been faced with the same problem at hand regardless(also as a side note, apparently you don't get that free 500 DDO points when you buy 1 month)) or earn DDO points which WILL take ages, I guess this where I stop playing. It was a nice experience, thou getting locked out of using your char mid dungeon is kinda sad, and it's not like you can say it's because I don't have access to that pack considering everyone is getting all packs for free, so it is kinda tedious to be forced to buy vip again to continue playing. If I had known this was the case when I tred which was quite literally yesterday I'd have chosen free-to-play stuff (I'm uncertain as to whether or not vip had this listed that this would happen after it ended, so I can't go as far as it should be listed since I never read everything that comes with vip and everything that's removed mid dungeon apparently, so I guess this blame falls to my own stupidity or rather my own laziness for not reading up on this) for my build, while I did expect to be locked out of packs (if f2p period wasn't up, or if everyone didn't get the pack) it was unexpected to be unable to use my main toon which I quite literally spent everyday in the month building (my only complaint) to be locked out of it after SOO much time and effort quite literally (lots of sleepless nights, lots of nights pulling agro from my gf) I honestly don't know how that makes me feel considering I start back to work soon I'd have less playtime, I'm honestly not angry, sad nor am I happy, it's more like I lost something. In any case vip experience was pretty great, got access to all classes other than favor locked ones (thou I've not played any of them other than warlock, and alchemist which I got locked out of) got access to packs, thou I guess this didn't even matter due to f2p period and the fact that everyone got all packs, shared bank etc. And that's about it I guess, it's still nuisance that I got locked out of my toons but whatever I guess, as far as things goes I think this is where I'm gonna stop playing since I'm not in the mood to buy vip again since it's apparently a time crunch to tr as fast as you possibly or be locked out trying, and that in it of itself is strange since there's a 3 day tr timer (understandable). In all honesty I should have just bought DDO points alone, considering the f2p period, at least that way 'd still be able to play. Well good bye DDO, if I feel like buying vip I may play again thou that's unlikely anytime soon.

VIP grants extra character slots. The only thing you need to do is to buy enough character slots so that you have enough to cover the number of characters you made. You can also delete some of your characters if you don't like them.

And instead of that massive wall of text you could have just said "My VIP went away and most of my characters are now locked".

I don't use the other toons except for 2 (bank toons) so I could care less about them, I only care about the fact that I can't use my main anymore.

Well, VIP gives you access to races and classes you have to pay for if you are not VIP.

If you go VIP again you will be able to play them, if you dont want that then you have to pay for the race and / or class in the DDO store.

Yea, I know, I've said that; in that abomination of a paragraph above. I'm quite aware that I've to make yet again more purchases to continue.

Both gnome and Alchemist are premiums. You need to buy them to continue if you're not VIP.

The bit I pulled from the OP WoT was the bit about not getting the 500 points.

You should have gotten them as soon as your VIP activated. (Check your history on the DDO Store in game. Submit a ticket for that if it doesn't show the +500 credit when you started your VIP sub.))

At the end you say you don't like the TR race. There are more ways than that to enjoy the game. I know *I* would hate playing the game as a TR/IR/ER/RR addict.

Option to get those extra character slots, etc = Roll up characters on other servers and do 100-favor runs on each. You'll get the first time bonus for each server, plus will have a character slot available on alternate server to do continuing 100-favor runs for 25 points each run. If you did multiple TRs in a month, those favor runs will be nothing for you to run.

Just suggesting an option. Only the OP knows what works for their situation.

Fun fact, I've already earned the base 100 favor on all servers, which took around nearly 3hrs on each one. Also tbh it's not that I dislike tring or lvling, in all honesty it was a fun experience tring and farming gear, getting more powerful, forming parties and doing r10 etc. I've no issues with the game it's pretty nice (thou getting stuck in loading screens back to back sucks) it's just kinda sad that I can't use my toon without either purchasing vip or grinding the DDO points which will take days considering I've to buy both gnome and alchemist. Grinding 100 points on every server was already tedious and time consuming yet I did it anyways, thou grinding 1k favor without any gear on multiple servers is well, too much and even for me, that's gonna take days (not all servers you can get parties so could be even longer) and it's not that I'm against grinding since that's all I've been doing this past month, got around 5-6 lives and 2 epic lives. It's just that I don't really wanna buy another month vip considering I go from 1-20 in 1-3 days depending on how hard I try (with xp potions 2 days), so I'd just be using vip for 3 days at best, since I was gonna get fighter, barb, bard, socc, arti, fav souls, rogue then racial lives, which would mean vip would quite literally end before I even got a chance to use any of the perks (well I guess it gives a small xp boost and other stuff which is nice, thou I don't really care much about those stuff since it doesn't impact me much), basically what I'm saying is that I'd not be using "vip perks" or rather "classes and race" for more than 2-3 days. I did have a great experience I feel like picking up pen and paper, thou with where I live and well the state of the world that's gonna be hard unless I play online I guess, generally speaking for hrs on end, even as far as 24hrs sometimes for past the month, buying vip gave me what I wanted and it was indeed worth the money I paid thou I sorta wasted the points I bought, in any case the experience was worth the expenses is what I'm saying, the only downside I've is not being able to well (this is getting repetitive and I sincerely apologize, I'm also sorry this turned out to be such a mouthful XD) being basically locked out of my toon. I'm not exactly the type that would start from scratch (considering the amount of tomes- both xp for heroic and epic and also stat boosts, as well as large bags which I bought with points as well as other things including my time) considering the amount of commitment and hrs I put in, it's a bit much to ask me to spend another month to do everything I just did over again even if I've all the packs for free now. Not even mentioning the amount of aggro I pulled from my gf for eating late or cooking for us late (thou it's not as bad as it sounds since she's a gamer to, a much more competitive one at that).

Tbh if it had big red texts when I bought vip telling me this would happen I'd have went with human fighter for my last tr (which I was debating to do, but went with alchemist instead which was a dumb move and my own fault). Whether or not I'll buy vip again or not is debatable since I now have all the packs (which was the main reason I bought it since I thought f2p period was going to end) and buying nearly 4k DDO points to be able to use my toon is not exactly worth the investment considering I'd only be using the class for 2 days (may use the gnome race thou that's a big maybe). So as far as things goes I'd faster drop the game now than face a pay wall again, considering I've had a tendency in the past to put hundred of dallars into games to drop them later on due to utter boredom, while I don't feel like I've wasted money in no way shape or form in DDO there's nothing I regret buying. Thou given that I'm now dropping the game it's a shame since I'll miss it

I refer to games like this as, "Free to Try". FtP is an illusion, honestly. One way or another, you will pay for the experience, whether be through time or money. If you enjoy the game enough to pay $15 a month, go for it. There are other options to make those points, but it will be time consuming, and if time is money, well.... Again, the debt is paid either way.

I won't exactly go that far considering I got 2 lives in while I was a f2p and that's before this f2p period, it was last year thou on a diff server-wayfinder (which is dead so took allot longer) and well it's grindy as a f2p but eh the fact remains you can go from 1-30 with effort. And as for the DDO points' I've earned up to 1k on some servers, so grinding favor isn't and extremely time consuming thing for me to do at this point for something I'll barely use. As I've stated above I've nothing against grinding given that I go days on end grinding for 1 item sometimes, **** to farm some of the gear it ended up taking 5 lives in to get it to drop, and that's with my ransacking multiple quests each life till I got 0 items.
