Default The little things that irks me about the launcher

    Hello,
This game is great, especially with all the influx of incentive for new players to start playing the game / veterans to resume... However, there are some things that disturbs me, and they are on the game launcher.
First, why is any download you do from it marked in bytes ? This makes the numbers so high you actually can't see how is your download going, as the huge numbers go past the launcher window. My proposition is to make the downloads marked in Megabyte (numbers ~1028² times smaller), or at the very least Kilobyte (numbers ~1028 times smaller).
Secondly, there's a problem with the french and the deutsch launcher. When using it, the three options at the top of the window (the ones with "Community", "Account" and "Support" on the English launcher, this this order) doesn't have any text in it, they just show as three red thin rectangles. (Clicking on them still leads to the correct link though).
Thirdly, and staying on the subject of languages... why can I only change languages on the launcher ? I should be able to change it in the middle of a session. I admit though, this is more of a pet peeve than an actual problem.
Fourthly, still about languages... Why when do I change languages for the launcher, the launcher does a full restart ? By itself, i wouldn't mind, but coupled with the last one, it becomes really annoying.
Lastly, why do i have to download the generic teleport screens each time I start the launcher? For that matter, why do i have to download the generic teleport screens of all three languages in a single given language ? If i use the English language, I would need only the English generic teleport screens, no ?

I am not sure if the devs will ever see this, but if they do, i would be so glad if they correct even one of the problems here.

    1024 (2^10), not 1028.

The Launcher tries to load the language-related files, then, too.

Sadly, French and German languages are not supported for a lot of years now anymore.
I wish SSG would translate at least the dialogs again, but I fear that this won't happen.

Item names is a very complicated and extremely difficult to tame beast, because of the very different grammar structures in all 3 languages.

(Mark Twain very much expresses in his book "The awful German language" his disdain with the German language to place the verb at such a place within its sentence grammas structure. A funny read is this book, though. Highly recommended ! A few days ago I had a similar problem with translating a body tempreature measurung device handbook into German language, though, because it was written in English language. )

    This is so since ages.
But I think that at least the English-language Launcher doesn't have this anymore, but I'm not sure about that.

Besides, you can turn on and off some things within the Launcher's Options menu. There even is a beta 64 bit Client.
You can turn on and off a lot of things from within the game's options menu, too.

"You are a Tiefling. And a Cleric, with the Domain of the Sun. Doesn't that contradict each other ?" "No, all my friends are playing evil. I found that so boring that I decided to be on the good side. And, besides, Sun and Fire, where is the difference, really ?"

I don't know. Here, the word "Launcher" normally means the standalone DDO Launcher, not the Steam version, I guess.
