I'm not talking about the TR cache disappearing when you do a reincarnation. I'm talking about the undelete service. When you get a character restored, most of your items are lost and you might end up with a handful of your old things if you're lucky and had them on you when you deleted. It has nothing to do with the "cache bug" the service restores the "character".

But those of us who read the OP see the complaint of losing the entire TR cache.

The reason I brought up the Undelete service is because people are speculating on backups, whether or not they are done etc etc...when it is very clear they already do this...and that puts any debate about backups, their ability to do so, what kind of "epic undertaking(1)" or "spaghetti code(2)" stands in the way...to bed.

(1)(2) being the usual buzzwords that get trotted out because they saw a dev post it 7-10 years ago in an unrelated thread so it somehow also must be relevant in every single other thread someone is asking for something to be fixed in.

It has happened to me twice where I logged on, that what got populated was someone else's account/toons. I never done anything to that account, and just logged off/on to get into my own account. So I believe there are system glitches that can occur to explain what happened here.

This has happened to my wife on at least one, very recent, occasion. She logged into her account (she only has one) and only saw toons that weren't hers. She immediately logged out and back in and saw her own toons again.

Although she didn't, she could easily have chosen one of those toons that wasn't hers, gotten into the game world, and I'm guessing she could have deleted it.

Not really. This is a tangent, but the BBB is a racket. It just means there was a disgruntled customer that filed a bunch of complaints and the business didn't pay off the BBB to restore the rating. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not there was any merit to those complaints. If SSG was willing to cut the BBB a check they'd have an "A" tomorrow.

The reason nobody trusts the BBB is that it's a pay for play organization. A business' BBB rating is largely dependant on whether or not they pay dues to the organization.

BBB is not accurate.

I've yet to see a single positive feedback there.

On any business I've checked.

That tells who bothers to rate at that site.

That's like looking for vaccine advice on antivaxxer site.

Counterpoint: People satisfied with a videogame usually don't look for business rating websites to leave a review there. The rating appears to be based primarily on negative customer service reviews and a failure on SSGs part to respond to them on that particular website. The majority of those reviews are naturally negative (again, happy customers usually don't go out of their way to write reviews on external, out of the way websites - that's something you do in a flurry of righteous indignation, furious anger and so forth) and written in such a vague manner that responding to them is probably rather tricky, without having additional data. I'm not sure the rating there is all that accurate, for that reason and wouldn't draw conclusions from it.

No, it is meaningless. People go there and complain, like many do about any business. Then if you pay BBB they will remove the complaints from your business and show that you are A rated. It's that ridiculous. Likely BBB had there own people complain about businesses in order to extort money from those businesses. It was only important when people thought that it was important, it really never meant anything. At least now the delusion is gone for most everyone.

Tr cache is deleted when a toon is deleted.
So not a bug I guess.

Why not trust him and give him what he wants?

because gamers are an entitled lot, BBB doesn't investigate if they get a complaint they accept it.

He's actually a guy; not a woman, a father of over 50 years old with a son actually playing DDO as well.

You probably never met his character if you do not play on the Sarlona server. His character "Firegoddess" was started as a female fire based sorceress and all completionist feats and 200 reaper points from 2008. He is usually on from noon till whenever he gets tired; and I do not know if he multi-box or shared his boxing with other people.

His favorite final build was a gnome based 18 wizard/2 monk.

He used to play with some people on Sarlona, and usually completed high reaper quests with ease.

He was playing on an alt when it got deleted. If someone logged in while he was on (hacked) it would have thrown him out of the game.

Honestly it sounds like he or someone he shared his info with deleted it and he didn't notice the toon gone while he logged on an alt., then noticed later. The alternative is the game got hacked, and they only deleted his toon or a dev deleted it while he played, those dont sound reasonable.
