We're still getting what we paid for, even if others are getting most of it for free. So it's not breach of contract or anything like that.

It's like Raid Bypass Timers - I bought a bunch of discounted RBT shortly before they introduced Legendary Raids, planning on using them in the upcoming raids, but then they introduced the Legendary RBT. Technically they were correct that the RBT can be used in all the raids that existed when I bought them, so I had no reason to complain.
You're still getting what you paid for.

It is making me reconsider extending my VIP subscription, as there doesn't seem to be much value in it, compared to Premium.

You can have your cake and eat it too! Why complain? you install a client on your home PC just so you can play...and I am sure SSG is getting something out of the free giveaway. Nothing is for free. There is always a catch/angle. But, who cares! DDO is fun! do not take it too seriously. It is only a game! Enjoy it!

Feel compelled to comment .....i have no issues with content free to all.........but as a seasons pass holder i feel duped and last i checked ssg doesnt allow duping

I'm a season pass holder as well and, while that is a bit of a disappointment, I am technically still getting that content permanently so they didn't really take anything from me. Also, the way I look at it, with the coupon code I get all of the other non-expansion content free if I ever decide to let my VIP service lapse.

I was VIP before the I bought the season pass and will be going back to VIP afterward. The other benefits of VIP are enough for me to keep paying for it. I get why you might feel ripped off though as that portion of the season pass does seem a bit "bait-and-switchy". Still, they did - technically - give me what I paid for and I mostly signed up for the free daily gold roll.

Well as a "thank you" to SSG for invalidating one of the few perks of being VIP which I have been paying for for 16 years now, I have decided I will not be spending the 300-400 dollars I have spent the last 2 seasons.

I will be spending 0.
I do not have to now, I can just bring all 6 of my DB accounts in and use them for loot farming, as I won't have to spend money on shards for chest rerolls.

Thank you for saving me a ton of cash this time.

I find these kind of posts really annoying. I am premium and was consistent subscriber since 2007 before it went "F2P"......I can tell you this, I spend way more a year on this game than a standard ViP subscriber.....so think of it as a gift to us, because we get NOTHING for contributing to SSG's treasure chest.
