    Default My Suggestion List

    I created this list recently and thought I would share it. You'll notice some common themes throughout:
    - maximize actual play time
    - add more fun
    - add more variety
    - remove tedium and things that detract from fun

    Remove spell components; no place in an MMO. Remove Eschew materials feat
    Value: convenience

    Remove requirement for spells to be memorized.

    Remove spell damage caps and make all spells at least closely comparable or viable.
    Review and adjust spell point costs accordingly.
    Review and adjust all class spells.
    ex) I can throw an Energy burst for 80,000 points of damage for 20 sp, but you are afraid a Bard can cast a greater shout spell for 80 sp that does 500-1000 damage?
    Value: Encourages a more varied spell-casting experience.

    Allow linked buffs. One casting for buffs.
    Value: convenience

    Keep a permanent group bonus (3% per person?) for xp to encourage grouping. Include Raids.
    Value: Encourages grouping

    Review every quest in the game and use gathered metrics to determine a consistent xp-per-minute rating (without optionals).
    Gather metrics for quests with the optionals. Adjust xp for quests and optionals for consistency.
    Value: Encourages all quests to be run

    When Colors of the Queen procs an animal, make the animal a vicious, killer (CR50+) that goes active for 60-120 seconds.
    Imagine a killer frog rampaging through the next couple dungeon rooms.
    Value: fun

    Combine servers
    Value: possibly more grouping and raids; less maintenance for SSG

    Allows players who TR and eTR to save templates of their toolbars and what's on them along with their settings (metamagics).
    If a ability, feat, destiny twist, metamagic, is not present on the new player, just skip it.
    Value: convenience

    Toolbar setup:
    Button to create a toolbar
    Prompt for rows and columns
    Create fixed block frame of row x column
    Allow entire block to be positioned

    Improve Enemy AI.
    Too predictable

    Improve Hireling AI
    Currently near-useless

    Randomize Traps
    Too predictable

    Crafting:
    Allow deconstruction of multiple items at once (up to 5?)

    Augments:
    Update for better capability, scalability, etc. Especially epic.

    Mimic event:
    Level based cost
    4 = 20
    8 = 30
    12 = 40
    16 = 50
    20 = 60
    24 = 70
    28 = 80

    Buffs:
    - Groups, chaining, or macros (cast once, multiple buffs)

    Allow definition of a main name. Have this name appear next to your name (in parentheses) for chat and in group.
    Provide on/off options for chat, groups, etc. If no name defined, no change in functionality today.
    Value: convenience

    Teleport and Greater teleport should allow teleport to all locations.
    If needed, break Greater Teleport into 2 version (like fireball, etc.). 1) a self-teleport; and 2) a group teleport.
    Ships should allow teleport to all (and same) locations.
    Teleport locations that go to ships should also allow teleport to all locations.
    Clickies and event items that allow teleport should function like the teleport spell.

    Epic Scrolls and Epic Pots - Make them very rare but powerful (1x use)
    The options are endless:
    - Defy death (auto-resurrect)
    - Invulnerable for x seconds
    - Clones of high-levels spells, destiny abilities, enhancements, etc. with good DCs that would work in Epic Elite+ content.
    - Free level or % of current level
    - Blast damage radius: fire, cold, electric, force, negative, etc.

    i totally agree with:

    server merge

    what you said about augments and crafting and what you said about teleport, i'll add planar travel.

    perma buddy bonus

    UI improvements

    about spell components: i am a fan of the d&d PnP touch, but they should really 1) at least make them 0 weight 2) since a spell component bag is not possible, at least sell in the store a "components bag", like, a perma stone of omnispell or whatever is it called. i'm seriously baffled they never did this, seriously, what's the meaning of buying spell components? plat sink? like reaper cosmetics? nonsense, shard auction made plat totally worthless. make components a bulky way to avoid the said store item "components bag"

    storage solution suggestion: Collection

    omni-cosmetic system suggestion: Arbiter d'Phiarlan, the Weaver of Guises

    I'm not sure what that question means as it does not contain sensible English.

    I agree with several of your points

    Spell components are in the game because wizards of the coast demanded it. But in the players handbook it is said "treat all regular components as if you have enough of them", i.e. they are for flavor only.

    As they can't make component bags or increase base bag by 9+ slots easily , they could just make omnispell dust drop like candy in chests (I doubt many people buy them in store at all... better more convenience for everyone so happier players than a tiny revenue and unhappy players).
    Then you still have vendor bought component for flavor but you can buy omni dust for cheap in the plat AH, as people who don't play casters often will loot more than they need.

    Agree about updating spells. It's fine that arcane has the highest damage dice as they are glass cannon but all damage spells should do at least "ok" damage. Some classes like spell singer bard are basically useless solo due to low damage at higher levels and you can't always find a group.

    Permanent group bonus is a great idea, as is server merge (I heard mega-server is possibly coming?), hireling AI fix, toolbar saving. How about a template to save your build too? Manuallly re-leveling for every epic TR is quite tedious.

    Balancing more quests for xp / minute and difficulty is a good idea but it's a lot of work.

    The only idea I really don't agree with is random traps.... not everyone is a trapper (you gotta play solo often) or has super high defenses so fixed traps allow you to prepare and then try to avoid getting hit and killed.

    nope, not done. a lot of players, myself included, never ever considered buying that stuff and will never ever buy those from the store. on the other hand, a perma version of it (1 item to mimic any spell component) would be maybe considered interesting by many.

    You want to spend DDO store points on one item that will forever remove the need for (the vast majority of) spell components?

    DDO store points that you get for free just by playing the game?

    That you will not spend on one slot spell components that remove the need for carrying (the vast majority of) spell components.

    Okay.

    Okay.

    yes. magic word is forever vs consumable. i'm just saying that this may be interesting for some players. also it's that kind of useless fluff to make you burn those free acquired points. but not as useless as a store bought wand of charm person for 95 points...that store is full of trash.

    hey, seems like we disagree btw, and we'll keep on disagreeing, we think different and that's really nice, variety is nice. just saying this cause i'll stop commenting about something i wrote cause i'm derailing the thread and i don't want to

    have a nice game!

    I doubt that the store makes much money of omnidust components for 1 DP per piece, as you can go through 1000 very quickly. People that use them regularly got them from dice rolls, plat AH or maybe shard AH (but there's better uses for shards IMHO)

    So they probably make very little money on omnidust, but an item that offers a permanent solution for the components might make them more money as more players would buy that.

    But it's not a big deal, I've come to just accept inventory -9 on casters.
