cant get past character screen

Just redownloaded the game after being absent for a couple years. problem is after I click on my character to log into the world it sits at loading forever then says lost connection. I have a great connection so not sure why it is losing the connection.

Just checked my firewall and it is allowing it to go through. Watch the process manager to see the network activity and there is NONE while game is trying to log me into the world. Im going to try a different server and see if that works.

Ok while making a new character lost connection to the server. I have a 14mb/s download speed So whats going on here?

tried to add a pic to show my network stats from speedtest. however it wont let me upload it NOR link it.

Everything in game froze up and could not move. Had to restart comp to shut it down then could not get back on.

ok i have been playing this game for over 13 years. I have never had this problem before. so can i please get some help?

Run it as Admin once, sometimes that allows it through? Run it in windowed mode, maybe there's an error message popping you can't see?
Are there any other programs running? Anything at all that might be listening on the ports DDO uses? Try turning everying else off, closing everything else.
You're sure there is no firewall stopping it? Windows has its own firewall, your router may have a firewall, Anti-Virus programs might have their own firewall.

What anti-virus are you running? Try turning it off, or turning off real-time protection ( turn it back on right away) and see if it works?

Directx9.0 installed? Visual studio redistributables?

Running in admin mode seemed to allow me into game. so far no problems once logged in
