But like AlmGhandi asked (and I have posted elsewhere), could we have some more communication in terms of when HC seasons happen?
Season 1 was announced ahead of time, hyped up, and it was great, I got friends to play and planned real life around it.
Season 2 was so secretive and came out of nowhere. Many people I know didn't even hear about it until it was open for over a week.
Season 3? TBD

Start dates shouldn't be hidden information. If you guys haven't committed to a time yet, that's fine, we'd love to even just hear that as well. A little communication goes a really long way here.

I agree with this. I came back to the game explicitly for Hardcore Season 1. After it finished i tried staying around on live, but it just didnt have as much fun as running on the HC server. So i got fed up and quit the game. Thankfully i seemed to get lucky and stumble across that season 2 had started so i only missed about a week, but i have spoken to plenty of people who didnt even know it had started until maybe late April, which really gave them no time at all to work towards any goals. I am trying to remember how i found out about season 2, but i cant specifically recall. I do know that season 1 was announced way ahead of time and i had plenty of time to get prepared for it.

The quicker we can let people know about Season 3 the more popular and successful it will be (i know for a fact that i hardly spend DDO points on live (when i use to play) but on the HC server i spent quite a bit on DDO points just to give me a couple of advantages (ie Beholder trinkets, tomes etc).

Anyway really looking forward to season 3...and not dying as much lol.

Oh gawds please not multiple times a year. I'm waiting on being able to transfer, but I have friends and goals on softcore that keep getting pushed back while hardcore is active. IMHO once a year is a perfect timeline for a 3 month long event to balance it with softcore/regular gaming.

But I do agree, at least give us a timeline ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. Please?

I suggest July to September, this way it wont clash with other events.

Last HC clashed with crystal cove, mabar.

This HC clashed with anniversary, travellers and one more i cant remember.

Dont make sense to have clashing events, not to mention lag death.
