Old Cleric cannot Heroic Reincarnate

Good day. My character Urvar Foewall on Cannith server is trying to Heroic Reincarnate.

I've gone through the process of acquiring and using up a Heart of Wood.

However back on the character selection menu, when I use the Reincarnate button and type in his name, I get the message:
"This character currently has enough XP to advance one or more levels. You must reenter the game and level up at a class trainer before you can reincarnate."

I'm level 23, and still 100k xp shy of 24 so there are no levels to gain. Edit: I've gained level 24 now, hoping that would trick the game into letting me reincarnate but it didn't work.

This is quite an old cleric (pure class) character, before domains were introduced and new deities added. And so those feats were missing. My friend is thinking that may be the problem. He offered a dragonshard to change a general feat to a deity lvl 1 one. But that didn't fix the problem.

My friend suggested Lesser reincarnating but because I already activated the Heart of Wood, I cannot.

When you go into the Feats list for this character, do you have a feat that is titles as a Free Feat Token, or something along those lines? Several people on the board, as well as myself, have an issue where our toons have an irremovable placeholder token that prevents feat exchanges. I have not tried to TR my FvS yet but perhaps this is related somehow if you have this Feat Token in the list.

I'm afraid not. Nothing saying free feat token or respec token in my character sheet nor Fred. In addition I was able to exchange a feat for a deity one. So I'm not sure if I'm suffering from what you're going through. Alas, the domain feat can't show up at Fred so I can't be sure to rule out feat exchange is causing this issue.

I was maybe hoping a GM would knock me down to level 1. Bring me up to level 20 again. At least we can rule out feats being the issue.

The message does state class trainer. Did you go to the Fatespinner or just to a heroic cleric trainer? Sounds like some heroic needs adjusting even though you are level 23.

Yes, I've visited cleric trainer who says I've reached heroic cap and refers me to fatespinner. The fatespinner says I don't have enough exp to level further.

It was a Heroic True Heart of Wood bought using Twelve Tokens. I've already used it at the Life Shaper and I get the reincarnation button at Character selection menu after logging off. I just can't proceed from there.

Talking to the Life Shaper now has a message "Your character is already flagged for reincarnation." and I can't select any other options.

So got a response but not entirely pleased on how it was dealt with...

I can understand you guys got a huge backlog. And Customer Services always goes by textbook first... But to have the same amount of information I've given in the ticket to be what was in this thread. Then have the response be, "Are you sure you got the right Heart of wood? It should have worked. Please send a new ticket if it's still a problem." was not sufficient.

*sigh* Onward to the next 3 days!

I got a second response from in-game support. They managed to fix the problem.

For people that might be suffering from similar issues:

They found the property on my character that was telling the game I needed to gain a level before reincarnating, even after gaining epic levels. They reset it, and the reincarnation process was as normal.

Just to note, before diving into my character, they will be going through a checklist of obvious questions to rule out obvious answers (which explains the first response). So try and be tolerant of their procedures.

Nothing on my character was lost, so overall pleased with that second response.

Feedback for the in-game support team:

In an event where response will be days later and I need to be online to explain the situation, it would be nice to receive an ETA (even just the day of response), so I don't have to hang online all week. Thank you.
