Default Cannot access ddo.com and in-game store.

Since 28/04/20 i am unable to access ddo.com and in-game store (need to use VPN for this). Other people in my guild have same problem. All of us are from Russia, from different cities and have different internet providers, so that can't be an issue. Domain isn't blocked by government or anything. I've posted a ticket 5 days ago, but no response there. I'd like to know, is this a country related thing and this problem is from our side, or you have some technical difficulties.

    Default Same problem

Yes, I see the same. Only VPN helps. And yes, it's been a week to appear.
I tried tracert and ping commands to 198.252.160.57(ddo.com) and 198.252.160.58(lotro.com).
    No tracer responce after 4.31.43.210
    No ping - no access.

But lotro.com is available. I think lotro store should be available too, but cannot check - no account.

So i think problem is only with ddo.com.

Actually. this issue started on last update. But I do not know if other EU players affected or not.

DDO.com was blocked by Roskomnadzor. Allegedly, there was some information posted on the site which is illegal in Russia. The possible options include: child porn (no way), child abuse (no way) guides on how to make and purchase drugs (highly unlikely), prohibited alcoholic substances (also highly unlikely), or information on how to commit suicide. The latter is actually possible, because they had the question about the best way to die on hardcore server in the DDO Chronicle a while ago. Or it was just a mistake, but either way, it would be pretty hard to fix.

Basically DDO devs or site admins must contact Roskomnadzor and ask to unblock the site. We also sent a support ticket the other day explaining the issue, but knowing how tickets are being addressed nowadays we'll probably have to wait quite a while.

Another option is to write to Roskomnadzor ourselves but we couldn't really find a viable way to do that.

I see now, thanks. ddo.com shows nothing, but www.ddo.com shows this. Well, at least game servers isn't blocked. Shame on store tho.

Another Russian player here, same problem. Submitted a ticket, but no response so far. Dear devs, we need help here. With store not working we can purchase literally nothing, because even VIP and expansions have to be activated through the in-game store

Actually, do you know that RKN must inform site owners before blocking? They must. But I'm sure they didn't. I didn't see literally ANYTHING to block ddo.com.

It is just RKN stupidity. Honestly, I want to use really bad russian words. ANd I think, RKN deserves them.
Suicide? On HC server? Really? Total nonsence!

Well, I think, it's time to ask Cordovan, what should be done with that. Otherwise, the only way to buy smth from store is VPN.

So, has anyone managed to get an answer from either DDO support or Cordovan or whoever else? I wrote to RKN as well but no reply for three days already (even though they say they usually reply in 24 hours).

It's problem from our side, i doubt that SSG can do anything with this. In any case, i provided link to this thread to Cordovan in my ticket at help.ssg, and wrote about RKN blocking, so they aware of situation.

I am not sure what web site is being discussed here, but we did check into a report from someone who sent us to a Russian government link on prohibited web sites and did not find ddo.com on it. There is no blanket ban in place that we can find that would cause you to not be able to access the web site or in-game store.

Greetings, Cordovan. They blocked https://www.ddo.com - full adress. It's how RKN works. In fact, they blocked many sites without real reason. And even tryed to block telegram.

We are looking into this, although if this really is a government decision by Russia, there may be only so much we can do. However, if you are being impacted by this and can private message me your IP information, that will help our tech ops folks investigate. You can get this information from https://ipinfo.io or https://whatismyipaddress.com and screenshot it. If you can't get it to me through private message, you may instead be able to direct message us on twitter.com/ddounlimited.

This is a different issue, caused by the Lamannia public preview server not being open.

My IP is dynamic. I can send screenshot to you, no problem, just not sure if it even needed with dynamic IP.

Yes. Only when they want to preview a new Update. The previews only last a couple of days.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

Thank you for answering Cordovan! I believe I was that person that sent you that link. Indeed you have to type in the whole address including "www", then DDO is listed as blocked. I did some investigating on my part, it seems that RKN had to notify your website hosting provider of the upcoming ban. Knowing them they probably did it in Russian though. The ban apparently happened somewhere around the end of February. In that notification has been sent there might be information there on how to object. If you need a hand translating anything from Russian to English or vise versa we'll give you a hand!

As for possible workarounds. Maybe we could make it work with opening store externally in the browser? I'm pretty sure every Russian player has some means of avoiding blacklisting in our browsers - this is how we are still able to access the forums. The problem is, even with "Open store in the browser" option ON all I get is an empty window that refuses to close, and I have to exit the game to get rid of it.
