    Default King of the Jacks (12 bard/6 warlock/ 2 rogue)

    Hey all, recently I returned to DDO and decided to be creative with my Bard. The concept was to create a bard that was great all rounder particularly for the team and so I tried out a warlock dip. To my surprise it worked out quite well

    So the basic breakdown for the build (these are the essentials):

    ** Epic Defensive Fighting is NOT used because of the Eldritch stance ( cannot use both). While it is a hp% loss I have adapted to it and the no "touch range" is a pretty good trade off.

    1. PDK shortsword user using the "Cormyrean Knight Training" from PDK racial tree - This gives CHA as your main stat for to-hit and to-dmg and a +DC boost to your Ice stuns
    2. Temp hp stack aura from Enlightened Spirit tree "Brilliance" + Warchanter 4th core "Fighting Spirit" + Tainted Scholar "Feigned Health" = 300 temp hp boost
    3. Ice freeze with dc 110+ - be sure to take "Taint the Blood" from the Soul Eater tree as this essentially gives you +4dc to your ice freeze attacks
    4. Good heals - Positive spell power with maximize sits around 1k, 3 healing spells + cocoon. You also have a free quicken + extend (No +SP cost) from Fatesinger ED
    5. Warlock 6th level gives you special pact, pick FEY as this gives you Dark Delirium - "That enemy is dazed and cannot act for 20 seconds. There is no saving throw. Each time this enemy is damaged, there's a 10% chance they break free." This is a very useful tool for CCing reapers or high threat targets safely from a ranged distance.


    Enchancement Tree

    Note that I had an extra 4 racial points, but anyone can attain the essential stuff, I recommend dropping the speed aura boost in Warchanter if you are on a 80 point build



    Epic Destiny

    Personal preference but I think after the rework Fatesinger is in a excellent spot for bards. note that I didn't take the bound fate + grim fate combo but its a very good choice especially for higher end group content such as raids.

    Also, how about Scion of the Feywild?

    I’ve changed slightly to 13 bard 6 warlock 1 fighter but pos sp are all similar. I’m not exact on every part breakdown but I can say I had around


    40 heal skill (with a diamond of heal +15)

    202 equipment from belt

    140 enhancement from ruby devotion

    77 insightful boots

    38 quality boots

    20 from scion aborea

    50 from fatesinger cores

    18 from first harmonic cord

    30 from warchanter (obstiance and high spirits)

    12 from reaper

    Rest must just be from base and epic levels auto add.

    Then on top of that I run maximize and intensify so that’s another 225 pos sp
    Then for some extra uptime I have potion of superior ardor for 25sp and warlock TS core 1 for another 25sp
    So if with everything it’s like 1.1k pos sp.


    As for scion choice feywild is a decent choice, i have used it in the past before. If you got good sonic spellpower, using fatesigner, combining other sonic things like resonant arms and reverberation filigree sonic dmg proc etc then it does add up. However the DC stuff is pretty useless for a melee bard and while 20hamp is better then nothing it’s not a must.

    So if you can justify that your toon is able to dish out more damage via the sonic route compared to the 20 raw melee power boost then go for it.

    My view on feywild was that even when using all that setup my pure sonic dmg was about 35% (being generous) with the rest being 5% from sneak dmg and 60% from pure melee power/weapon. Since reaper lowers dmg output, the higher skulls I went the less noticeable my sonic dmg was. Also don’t forget some mobs may be immune to sonic, some have resistance etc so it may not be 100% accurate dmg.

    im assuming you are asking if you can use THF for this build?

    You can go THF but there are two main issues

    1. You miss out on a +1 crit multiplier bonus
    2. No CHA to Dmg/Hit

    Without these 2 things you are gimping yourself out quite a bit in terms of damage output, however that is not to say that you cannot use this build as a THF, and perhaps with the upcoming feywild universal tree there could be a CHA to hit/dmg.
