Default Help understanding crafting specific items

I am in the process of trying to level my crafting in order to make some items for alts/next lifers. I have managed to get to level 123 so far. My question is how do I make a specific item? Here are a few of the items I am trying to make. All usable at level 5.

Impulse Ring, Radiance ring, and shard of power.
Specific +4 ability items such as +4 cha neck, +4 con helm, +4 str gloves.
    Bracers of improved false life.
    Belt of moderate fortification 75%

I think I have it figured out how to make the shard for abilities ect like 15 bruised spore pods and 5 Amulets of the six. I don't know what to do after that.

Thanks for any help I can get.

    Hi Seayn,

have a look at this page: http://ccplanner.byethost14.com/main.html?i=3 It is really awesome in helping out with cannith crafting.

    And this guide https://www.ddo.com/en/updated-cannith-crafting-guide

That should help with all your questions.

    Cheers,
    Titus

If you're just looking for a few quick hints on making an item:

    - craft the prefix and suffix shards you want at the bound shard altar
    - craft a minimum level shard for the level you want your final item to be
    - disjunct a random loot item (e.g. belt) to craft your effects onto
    - place your item in the bound item crafting altar and add first your min level shard then the prefix and suffix

There are a lot more details and strategies for the most efficient way to level etc., but that's the basics of making an item.

If you want more details, the links Titus provided are a great place to start. If you'd rather get your info in video format Voodu Spyce has several great Youtube videos on this subject. His videos start with the basics and walk you through everything you need to know without being patronizing. I highly recommend his channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9-...XQ1U9yKUvQSxjw

This video is a bit long winded, but very thorough look at Cannith crafting. It's from a few years ago when crafting changed so it spends a fair bit of time talking about "what's new" that isn't relavent to you now. However, it covers the basics very well.

Good luck. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

ETA: I use EllisDee's Cannith Crafting Planner and love it. Check it out here. https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...g-Builder-Lite

The most effective way I found to level up the cannith crafting skill was by using the item deconstruction machine that is in crafting hall. Which requires you to buy dissolvers from the vender person on north and south side of the crafting hall. Then select the dissolve shard on every item I would find until I had 50,000 cannith essences, which took forever but in the long run it saved a ton of ddo points and time.

Once I got the 50k cannith essences I went to the DDO store and got one Major Crafting Experience Elixir, then I got a lot of the +35% Crafting Success Booster X25. Once I got the supply’s ready I went to the Crafting Device – Bound Shards. The first things you can select is the MINIMUM LEVEL 1-34 ITEM it’s labeled as. I would select the one with the lowest % chance of completing. The logic behind this is because the lower the % chance of making the item the more experience you get from it once you succeed. With the 35% success booster that makes it a 36% so you get the most experience possible with using the least amount of cannith essences. Once I was successful I would step away from the machine and exit it then reselect it again. That way it refreshed the machine to your level then start again by selecting the lowest % possible and attempt until you succeed then exit and repeat. I did this process until I got the level 34 to where I had a good chance of doing it without a booster, at that point you can make everything possible.

Now in search section type intel and there it shows you all the intelligence shards you can make. Then do str and shows all the strength shards. Now you can make the recipes for items but it requires 3 things.

#2 is Mark of Cannith which you need to have 50 favor from house Cannith. Once you got the favor get on the platform and have it float you up to the patron, then buy 100 of the Mark of Cannith from his vendor. Now you can put the extra slot on any crafted item.
#3 is the Purified Ebberon Dragonshard Fragments. For the extra slot. You need to complete a saga for which ever area and get a +1 - +3 skill tome or if you got some spare stat tomes then travel back to the crafting hall and go to the vendor on the north or south side of the hall. Talk to them and select the I would like to trade essence. Now drag the skill or stat tome in the window and trade.

Now that you can make the required shards for the equipment you need to find ordinary equipment you get in chests and find ones with a blue or yellow augment in them. Once you have the equipment go to the Item deconstruction machine. Put the equipment in the slot and select Disjunction shard, which requires a Dust of Disjunction from the vendor. Then Head to the Crafting Device - Bound Items machine. Put the equipment item in the slot and drag a Minimum Level 15 Shard and that makes the equipment a level 15 item. Select the Mark of cannith so it adds the extra slot. Now the item should have Prefix Suffix Extra and augment. Ok now you just drag in the desired Shards to add the effects onto the item and then you completed the equipment.

Best way to level up CC is by crafting Min Level shards as they only cost essences not collectables. Different people will recommend crafting shards with a higher or lower chance of success so just do your own cost/benefit evaluation and find what you're comfortable with.

    Crafting Specific Items:
Step 1) Disjunction of the item to be crated
Step 2) Craft the desired shards on the 'Crafting Device - Bound Shards' (ie. minimum lv shard, prefix shard, suffix shard, extra shard (only for items lv 10+))
Step 3) Craft item: 'Crafting Device - Bound items'
    a) Apply minimum lv shard to disjuncted item
    b) Apply prefix shard to item
    c) Apply suffix shard to item
    d) Apply 'Extra Effect Slot Item' if wanted (needs a Mark of House Cannith and min lv 10+)
    e) Apply extra effect shard.
    f) DONE, time to show off your shiny new item. Just keep it away from kobolds (Oooo ... Shiny!).

Keep in mind that the effects will scale based on the minimum level shard you applied, which may not be the same as the minimum lv of the item if you put an augment into it (ie. you craft a ml 4 item but put a deathblock augment (ml 8) in it. The item will be ml 8 but the effects will only have the ml 4 values). Also tiered armors and shields will still keep their ml, if higher than the applied ml shard, but the effects will be at the level of the applied ml shard.

As mentioned above: ccplanner is a GREAT tool (It has not been updated yet to reflect the removal of 'Guard' effects, 'Blueshine', and 'Everbright', so ignore those). It will even tell you some good quests to farm for collectables. Simply mouse-hover over an ingredient for a list of efficient quests.
Dennis the Peasant: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

    Default Farming Collectibles

This link posted by Dancing Hawktopus is a great guide to farming needed collectibles.

Also, if you are ever on Ghallanda feel free to look for me. My main is Orrem. My crafting lvl is 400.

Another small piece of advice: always craft on items with augment slots. The min level shown for the items with aug slots after you disjunct them is not accurate. It is an artifact left over from the original Cannith crafting system. You can make and use items with augment slots for ANY level.
