    Default mass hold SLA

what does the spell level of mass hold SLA go from for DC? highest caster spell level or highest bard spell level or just 9 because it's a level 9 arcane spell? I was thinking about trying a 15 wizard/5 bard with all the spellsinger bonuses to illusion for phantasmal killer etc and having a useable mass hold would just be icing on the cake getting heighten to set it to 8 for wizard is a lot better than 2 for bard...I tried it with a temporary deep gnome as 10/5 and couldn't figure it out from combat log etc etc etc.

My current life is a 15 wizard / 5 bard, and let me tell you, this build is only good on paper.
One of the most painful lives that I've ever run, can't recommend it.

I haven't hit epics yet, so I don't know if it gets better at some point, but right now I'm a level 9 wizard / 5 bard, and I can't keep up with the ballooning mob hit points /saves.
Then again the character I'm running it on, doesn't have a lot of caster past lives either, so that doesn't help.
Trying to pierce the SR of creatures has been a nightmare. Also I'm regretting picking drow as a race, gnome and it's illusory spray would've been so much better.
So yeah, if you're gonna go gnome... then *maybe*, just maybe you can make it work.

this takes 2 racial points, obviously more racial points would be better. thoughts? genius? madness? if it's just suboptimal I can live with that lol. there is six extra spell penetration in the enhancements, on top of whatever you can get out of feats and caster past lives. extra enhancement points would likely go to prodigy. I think I will roll up a first liferand try it 30. did reaper1 in a group of Assault on Stormreach out of the box as a deep gnome and was competitive in kills and phantasmal killer seemed to land not 100% but reliable, which i'm good with as a first lifer with 0 reaper points in reaper. caster and deep gnome past lives would help. i never got close to running out of SP thanks to spell song vigor. i think it's worth a shot

without knowing if you have any past lives to assist.

You are casting Wizard Spells as a Level 9 even though you are level 14, you also only have access to level 5 wizard spells. Your base Spell Penetration is 9. This is why you are struggling with SR. Recommendation is look towards spells that do not allow require Spell Penetration when running high SR content.

Damage is also limited based on spells that have damage based on caster levels, recommend looking at using debuffs in low to no SR content. reducing con/levels of a mob in heroic can help when your DPS is low.

Are you trying to have both a High Intelligence and Charisma? This could also be contributing if mobs are "saving" taking 1/2 to no damage. Sorcerer would have been a better synergy since they share caster attribute.

How are you using the Bard Levels? Are you a "Melee" caster using War Chanter or Swashbuckler?, or are you using Spell Singer?
